  1. I have adjustable air shocks in the rear of my corona and they are similar to soggy bread. What options are there for a shorter, firm shock? Any advice is helpful.
  2. Not seeing it properly I think. Subtle - it doesn't stand out. Chrome bumpers, trims, shiny rims, grill, mirrors, wipers, and lip. Looks good.
  3. Ridal likes this ^ big time. Did someone say babe magnet? Most probably the woodgrain features and/or sheep skin seat covers. I really like the subtleness of the front lip. Love it how the rear rims are so tucked yet it's still lower in the front. Good motivation, thanks.

    TT41 corona's.

I could be interested in the box if you could find out a bit more ie spline count, 4 or 5 speed, what the oil looks like, does it select gears fine etc.
  5. Oh no! Although I heard it could not be moved by mere mortals?
  6. Does the LSD box not rid the torque steer?
  7. Personal fave, jack up the ceffy, sun on my back, can see my bleeding knuckles in the reflection. Cheers Simon.
  8. Tabby. That's pretty rare.
  9. Didn't have time to read but probs has answers: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/what- ... -road.html
  10. Yes I did jump the gun there. But BZG|Bling said someone had been done? Although his comment could also be taken as a plain factual statement. Does anyone know the legalities of having a thrash on the go kart track in Kaikora? Worth asking police?
  11. That must mean the track is a public road....?????? That is such bullshit. Surely going to a unused go kart track to do your skids instead of a public road is a good thing for everyone. The police are always saying to keep the racing off the streets and when we do they still come down hard. They really don't do themselves any favours. They are fuelling the fire. Do they really think they can control New Zealand's bogan culture? Not going to happen. To make any real progress both cops and car enthusiasts need to show respect. I'm not sure about other peoples opinions but I think the increased penalties for bogan related offences are not solving any problems at all. If not the opposite. I personally feel that the laws are not well thought through and more importantly unfair which makes me feel less inclined to obey them. Or maybe the moral of the story is don't use facebook. PS- A less conspicuous way to organise a day could involve the PM system rather than public posting?
  12. It's an agreeing frenzy! But really, that AE86 looks tough as nails. RAARGH
  13. Retarded I think not. Arse puckering is most definitely a side effect of slam. It gets you good at reading ahead. Crossover skill with fixxie biking. Also I would agree with Simon. People don't get cert without putting some amount of effort, time, and money into their cars to satisfy the high standards of LVVTA. I see cert as a line between the enthusiast and the bogan.
  14. But this is kind of the end goal for this car. I've got to see it through or a part of me will die. Would 8kg classify as concrete? 'Suggested' sounds like the key word there. I hope.
  15. That's real dumb. I guess it would be for the exact reason. If you were certed for real low on 15's and changed to 13's you could reduce the clearance by a substantial amount. Well the day and a half I had it at 20 ish mm it wasn't too bad so I would be surprised if 30-40 mm would be a huge issue. Although the roads are a bit worse now than December.
  16. This is true. But can you change your wheel size after cert? You could simply change the tyre profile if not but that isn't ideal.
  17. Very valid point and I know what that feels like. I do have two cars so it may just switch the daily duties around. Or I'll realise it's not worth it and change it back. Good things to consider especially the brake test, thanks.
  18. Truenotch - Yea I think the car will end up looking good, handling badly and being a bit difficult in general to drive around. I'll get some adjustable camber plates as well which will hopefully allow me to pull a few degrees out if I don't like it. I think -5 would still be in the 'to make it handle better' realm though? If it was VIP spec camber they'de tell you to jog. I think the best thing to do now would be to take the car as it is now to the cert guy, tell him my plans and go from there.
  19. Come on man. Don't be that guy who says "that tyre will never fit on there!" or "100mm is plenty low enough". I just want to know if it's legal. I know it's not sensible.
  20. Thank you Cletus! Ok I will hurry up then. Thanks everyone for the input. Is there any rules regarding camber? I got my cressida lower arms the other day and was planning on installing them this weekend. They will give me quite a bit of camber, maybe -5 degrees, and I have just wondered whether this would be considered unsafe?
  21. It wasn't too bad. 4kg springs were a bit soft. I'm looking for some 8kg's to use. The tow hooks collected a lot of tar! But man it was fully worth it. Looked real good.
  22. Thanks guys. A guy at autoline told me you need a minimum of 30mm travel in the shock which I easily have. Not sure if what he said is true but sounds believable. Have you had DIY adjustables certed Simon? So you're saying there's no x-raying involved? I put mine in one time and got pink stickered the next day. It was a bit silly of me but I had just finished them and was at the garage... The xmember was about 20-25mm clear of the ground with captive springs and ample travel. I'd say I couldn't get cert for 25mm if you need 30mm shock travel.
  23. Woops! Is there any chance a mod could shift my post to the cert thread? I'm interested in hearing peoples personal experiences. I'm sure others will have done the same as me. Thanks
