4D56T's quite commonly blow head gaskets, and usually they crack or warp the head. 1st thing I would do is replace or remove the thermostat as KK said. If it is still getting hot after that start looking at head gasket & head replacement.

Looks like you guys had a wicked time!! Gutted I couldn't come along. -
You'd have to go see him for pricing as I think he basis he prices on if he knows you or not. Also don't go see him unless your really serious about getting some done as hes getting tired of random people turning up and asking about them. Hes down Bachelor ford road towards the end on the right. PM Evobilly he has the guys phone number.... And dont turn up in a flat peak cap & baggy pants with an attitude or he will just tell you to fuck off

Try changing the Points & condenser. It may help.

Repco has the tools. But I like to use a keen eye & a 3/8" drive long extension with insulation tape wrapped around it to pack it out a bit has never failed me yet.

Picture-less update. Been using it as my daily driver, such a nice car to drive. Had afew hiccups, flange gasket went, so I replaced it but managed to fuck the studs on the manifold. So now its extra leaky... Ive booked it in at the local exhaust shop to have the manifold studs replaced & a new Bosozoku style twin exit up swept exhaust. now were do I get those little rain stoppers trucks have on there stacks?? -

Never taken in past 150kph. Interesting to see if my dash will display 200kph. It looked not so good lowered on the 14" Sharak X-1's, mainly because they have balloon spec tyres & they were well inside the rear guards. The sharak's would look nice on a AE86 or a KE70 I reckon. -

Yep that's my mates. gearbox is out at the moment. It has a rather large crack in the bell housing due to the previous owner trying to do some "sweet skids." -

So anyway I got tyres put on my steelies & they look super sweet. But with the OS nats coming up I thought "I need a back up car, encase I have troubles with the triumph," So I pulled finger & chopped out all the rust from the hatch and welded in some new steel. Looks a bit rough but it will do for now. I also Painted a rising sun on the side after afew beers. Sorted out all the wof issues so hopefully it will pass. Evobilly might be using this to go up to the nats if his KE35 isnt ready. Hatch welding.... thanks to a old washing machine for donating the steel and my SH*T welding skills. Boot trim & carpet all put back in, now all clean! MMMM.... Dish. Will be getting some low after wof Sensible wheels for wof. apparently your not allowed 195's on a 9" rim. and rust free hatch fitted. -

So Ive been slack and not posted for a while. But I have ripped out the sluggish 2.0L and auto box and replaced it with a fresh 2.5L & manual overdrive gearbox! The motor has had some mild work done which includes, a 74 PI camshaft (higher lift than the standard TC & S models), 0.15" planed of the head, Dual valve springs & a nice free flowing exhaust. Very nice I also have put some tyres on my 15x9's and chucked them on..... realistically they are too wide for the old girl. Ive had to pump up the airshocks to stop them from rubbing on the inner guards. So they'll probably be coming off soon and going on the Celica. My camera is stuffed at the moment BUT i got 1 last photo out of it. Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=30261 -

already looked into this, i was going to get a 195/55 put on as well, but i think they might look a bit to small on the front... And the tyre shop didnt have a bald one, 185/55s will look too narrow on my Celica (which the wheels will be on from time to time). Also Price has a factor in it. 195-60s are quite common so theyre cheap. So I can afford to wear them out with camber wear haha. -

got a 195/60-15 stretched onto one of the rims. Thanks to the local Firestone for gifting me a tyre & putting it on for free. so here's some pics: Hellaflush approved I believe. Discussion: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=30261&start=20 -
