i have found a whole crashed esky with a 4 speed manual cheap that way i would have all the bits side by side is the auto and manual drive shaft different will the box cross member bolt up do i need to drill or cut holes for the clutch cable and to mount the pedal? ive done conversions on some other cars but its always good to have as much info as poss to do it easy.

bout time i did somthing to this so started with a lil play with a old style roof rack i picked up for a mate then it was time to get on to the real work dug out the rear bump i got with the car its in a poor state has some good classic bumper stickers but not going to go well with the rest of the car striped the front off to clean up some over sprey issues and finish some rust proffing plus pull the 4age out to put the 4k back in (so it will see the road in time for nats) I HOPE rear bumper fitted and muffler dumbyed up to see if it will do (it will pass for now) motor ready to come out and looking at sorting those front springs out asap decided 4x4 mode in the coupe not my style also i need advise on best way cost effective way to paint crossmembers so that it lasts and the plastics for inside the car thanks in advance more progress tommorrow

so thought it was time to get another car just coz i could lol and it poped up 1979 ford escort ghia 1.6 AUTO sadly the 1.6 is in bits as he blew it i pulled the head off appears to be burnt valves so got another head coming then plan to fix and get going back in car current engine in the car is a 1.3 that too has also blown people have told me it spent alot of time on limiter but as we know these don't have a limiter have found a rolled 1.3 4 speed manual that im working a deal on plan is to put the 1.3 manual in and run it as a daily well the 1.6 gets fixed then swap it in the ladyz love the porno door cards the whole back is decked out like it 1.6 head

i donno bout fuel economy Triumph2500 should know hes owned a few give him a pm but when you say there a big heavy car thats not tru i always thought they were too then we put one on the weigh bridge and it was under 1300kg lighter then my evo and all the other jap cars we put ova that day

have you guys considered sharing one car between you? it will drop the ferry crossing prices heaps. the group coming from chch will most likely be 3-4 people per car i have no idea what my plans are just going with the flow and i only have 2 seats in my car, it is also a car club meet so why not bring my car along to show people in person! plus the deadline of wanting to take it up will mean that i'll get it done faster

the car wasn't a auto at any point? so it would need wires bridged to trick it to think it was in park

i talked to Chris Webby in the weekend bout wheels he said he does it to cert regs as he has a good rep and wont do wheels that don't meet the regs his prices seem way cheaper then anywere else and saw a couple wheels he has done and they look sweet as Triumph2500 said hes a hot rod builder and does all his work top spec he has some very cool rat rods very old school type of guy he also said hes started to get alot of people send him wheels from down south as he is based in motueka/nelson, poeple have heard bout him in some of the hotrod clubs anyone intrested in getting mods to the wheels and wanting to talk to him pm me for the number im just on the hunt for some rims for my car work out what spec i need them and will be getting him to do the work so will post pics once done.

Laughed out loud at this. So is Taupo any easier for the trip up guys? Quite a few of us will head there on the Thursday night to prepare for trackday (by drinking?). It will probably be smoother sailing for a thursday afternoon journey + you could join convoys with the Wellingtonians. THIS ^ . . . keen to convoy up with you SI cats Thursday evening if anyone keen. Have a big private back lawn that could take a dozen tents & 1 spare room if anyone wants a place to stay in wellington for few days on way back down. Over keen if i need somewere to tent on way back havn't worked out my plan yet so i'll book 1 space lol
