finally finished my starion adjustables on my lancer viewtopic.php?f=17&t=30863 tried putting on my momo 16 by 7.5s and im gona need 35mm spacers if im correct you cant cert spacers that think or am i incorrect on that? what is the max width spacers you can cert? im going to need to cert heaps off mods so might as well do it all at once after doing a bit off measuring i have found the starion hubs sit 10mm closer to the strut than original ex lancer setup

is the noise worse when cornering? most likely wheel bearing gone check universal joints. if the dent is decent in the driveshaft, u may get vibrations coming threw from the rear end

+1 get a timing light most likely a tooth out

have done abit off welding lately cut bout 60mm of the strut down and fitted celica inserts, also managed to get some cheap top hats waiting for coil sleeves to turn up migged a plate in for where the clutch master cylinder is going bought a welder after doing the above welding at work, got a good deal on it. going to set-up gas when funds allow got a head set for the g32b since it had a oil leak at back off head. may have to run this until i rebuild starion motor. (have to do something about clutch cable)

sounds like frost plugs, easy fix if you know what you are doing

got myself a free motor putting a new head set on it due to oil leaking between block and head wondering what tools people have used to replace the valve stem seals i no there are proper tools to replace these but i dont want to buy them for a one off motor is a 4g32

anyone know or can grind and balance my starion crank for cheap been quoted $200 by rebuilder in dunies

stripped the rest off the engine main bearings starting to go on all and No3 half way there already crank doesn't look bad but when you run a finger over it ya feel bumps anyone got a mint starion crank? or can someone skim grind it for me (not with ur angle grinder) bores look ok apart from two wear marks threw the honing marks on each cylinder balance shaft and bearing No3 main bearing and cap (shit foto)

think i got some in the garage will measure latter tonight and post up measurements.

was googleing the balance shaft removal kit. only ones i could find are in america. may have to search ebay aussie yea engine has seen better days funny enough the motor was rebuilt by a wreakers not long before i got the car think the boy did it cause timing was a tooth out bearing and head set packages were in the boot

started stripping my starion turbo motor things started good until i bought the head into work and the boss goes theres a crack from a valve to the spark plug then as i started pulling the bottom end apart my luck got worse bottom end bearings starting to go on all. hope the cranks ok, will have to measure my heart sunk when i spotted this balance shaft bearings out off place so were to from here? i can get hold off a good head if i remove balance shaft will this effect anything? pros/cons off doing this? that or find another motor. any advice will be helpful

not much off a update found my hopes and dreams book and after calculating gst and freight came to $470 for the above items gave my panel beating "skills" ago this is made of part of a ex lancer guard same with this piece still have other A pillar to make then time for welding

it has been a slow few months have moved houses (bigger garage colder house ) so have made little progress after drilling a new roll pin hole in my starion gearbox selector shaft, it will now sit were the 5spd ex shifter use to sit also bought this diff set up not long ago (want to find a 25 spline lsd, let me know if u have one ) and scored some mint door cards and 2 1/2 inch exhaust system still deciding which wheels to go with, advantiz 15by7 or white momo 16by7.5s what do you think ??? have priced up some sleeves, C spanners, lock nuts and new shorter insets for my starion struts from STOCKS in chch and around $350ish trade price, which i thought wasn't to bad next udate i hope to have A pillars done and other rust areas sorted, thingers crossed

i have a rear diff set up that i think is out off a sigma turbo pics on my build page it has 25 spline axles am wanting to know what lsd i can use as mine is a standard open diff atm. is it possible to use a pajero lsd (or another 10bolt lsd mitsi diff) and mix and match parts to suit? as i dont specialize in diffs (or every striped one apart) im not in the "know" about mixing and matching two diffs together help is appreciated
