I need to get some time to look at @chris r - sounds reasonable.
Haha, but yeah I get it - I kinda wanna keep the stock loom in place and have it reversible but I'm probably just making it harder for no real reason.
-
It's one of the 110cc kits from Darren, so comes with Loom/CDI/Carb.
I'm a little dubious of the wiring being that quick and easy, but would be super happy to be proved wrong haha. Throttle/Cable I haven't sorted yet, stock can't work?

So, haven't updated this in a while.
Chucked a new tire on, done a couple tunes. Runs super nice now, starts in two kicks and racked up a bunch of KMs doing rides with the ASSES, Moped NZ and solo round the place.
Got a 110cc Lifan and VM44 carb chillin in the garage waiting for a working bee.

I'm in this thread again - I hope I can make this shit eh. My Chaly will be -2.5cm in the nose and Lifan by then I assume.
Judging by those other comments I won't have enough space for things though, and I should accept my collar bones toast going in.

Haha does it just slot in like that?
I wonder if it'd fit in a Shuttle, I miss my old one.

Just get something with a bit of grip. I'll help you out man. See you at Auckland ride? Chaly will be okay. Just don't lower the thing before then....speaking from experience.
I just bought a cheap $40 tire, @GuyWithAviators is helping me apply it this evening and do some other maintenance for the Auckland ride. Also @Shakotom keen man, I really need to sort a van to transport this thing.

I will be Lifaning very shortly, my actual above 50kmph open road driving experience is zero.
Will talk myself into attending I'm sure. Would normal road tires be all good?

To white wall or not to white wall that is the question

Pining.
Trying to get a few things sorted before then, tiny things. Need me some 10" tires.

Yamaha might actually be interested in that, a few of the Manufacturers actively search for relics of their production
I did think about contacting some dealerships and seeing if they were looking for a cheeky lil show piece.
Would be more than happy to part with it for funds to make the Chaly the dream machine.

Sweet!
I hope you are smarter than I was when I got mine going, and thought there was a problem with it
It has a rpm limit in the 'start' position
Haha Andrew and I already had a bunch of confused fun with that. How does it limit it? Sounds great WOT in that position though.

I was blowing into the end of the main line seeing if it was blocked and one line (albeit the one with fuel in it) was aimed loosely at my head, it shot out filled my ear and got half my face.
Feels like fire ants in your ear eh, so rinsed that out for a while and we seem to be alright now.

Picked this thing up with the help of @GuyWithAviators few days back.
Lowest KM Passola out. 33 genuine KMs from new in 1983. The original owner bought it, drove it 5kms and crashed it. The grandkids did a couple laps of the property on the grass then it was parked away for 34 years.
Fast forward to now. We got it running day one, but it has a few gremlins, which I think are mostly attributed for sitting so long. Some hoses are buggered and the float was letting all my fuel out.
Anyway, here's two quick pictures as I'm still angry at it after getting a literal ear full of fuel - fuck me that burnt, and is still stinging.

I'm a big VW guy, but it seems that MK4s looove to fall apart on people.

I've always wondered whether or not you can do that, anyone taken a scoot on the ferry?

I'm not sure on time exactly, but meat at Mercury Plaza.
Guess it'll depend on how long it takes people to suit up after work etc?
/Thomas's star bucks stop etc
I finish work at 4, takes me about half an hour to get home so from then on I'll be attempting to fit it in my car but realistically it'll have to be like 6:30/7 before I can even consider the traffic from the shore back into town haha.
I should really pre-load this some how, but leaving shit in Mercury Lane sounds like a good way to not have it when I get back. Would be a large amount of fuckery to bus home now then drive a car with a scoot back into work in Ponsonby.

Any real plans for this yet? Meet up time and location?

And tightening that bloody chain before I forget, it keeps slapping my kick stand.

If you can get it to my work at kumeu I can chuck it in the van
Thanks for the offer man! But I think it'd be even harder for me to get it there than town.
I'm going to experiment with seat removals this afternoon haha.

Anyone coming from the shore side with room on a trailer/in a van or something (potentially a Chaly & an FR80)? Would rather not have to lay shit down in the Corolla haha.
