  1. Sweet bro just sussed it, i forgot about toyodiy haha.. The ma61 celica supra which the t3 knuckles are based on are the same part numbers as the carina items, so i would say that they will work sweet as. Clearly the differences are in the actual strut body themselves and the knuckles are some what interchangeable. Now to rustle up some dollars, anyone think 50usd is a bit steep to send these here? i know i got a set of sidedraughts from america sent for less than that. Cheers Sam
  2. hey guys just need to know if there are any differences between a aa63 strut with vented brakes factory and ma60 struts, i know a lot of these strut types produce wack camber angles and just want to be sure before i consider getting these https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ma60/steering-knuckles-ma60-supra Cheers Sam
  3. Lower to 10mm off the deck and install some shitty widened steels, roof racks and rusty panels for the O.S approval man haha, half the people on this site are into some wack shit, dont see anything wrong with mild lowering, nice alloys and an exhaust, they are areas most factory cars lack in anyway. i don't so much agree with the gillys either but hey each to there own and like you say easy enough to replace with factory pulleys. Cheers Sam
  4. After work today i finished off the diff conversion, i had to tighten up all the link arms at compression, and bleed the brakes i managed to get it all done in about 30 minutes in a rush as i had to get to a football game but i couldnt sort out my handbrake cables in time. i took it for a strop round the block when i got home afterwards and i was stoked as with the outcome, i now have good brakes all round and a solid diff in good condition. they lock up with ease and have really improved the overall feel of my car.
  5. On Sunday i got my car up in the air and ripped out the worn out S series factory rear end and replaced it with a te71 pre facelift t series disc brake rear end. I had it sandblasted, then sprayed on some por15 grey and replaced the axle seals a few months ago. It all went smoothly, i borrowed my flat mates snap on/bluepoint tools, made the job a lot easier! i got the te71 gt diff into the car and had it to the final stages only needing final bolt torquing on the link arms, panhard rod and shock absorbers, and installation of the handbrake cables before i had to call it a night.
  6. I have finally started my build on the 27th of october after a spending most of the year collecting parts and not really doing much work on the car. First mission is to get the car to WOF standard. I fitted the ae86 front brake package i got a week or so ago. was very happy with the condition of the parts and loved the bolt in and go factory upgrade, i also replaced the hub covers with brand new items i got off ebay. After i fitted the brakes, i put some 14x7's on the front and pumped up the rear 14x6 wheels, and took the car for a strop around the block. It was the first time i had driven the car in around 3 to 4 months, needless to say i forgot how much fun these cars are! i had to get off the road before i got to carried away haha. After this i packed up for the day, but i was to hyped and i had to go back out to the garage. i took all my new lights and lenses out of there packages. mint redline tail lights, mint facelift clear indicators and brand new corner lights. and fitted them up. The car is really starting too look good and i am steadily building motivation.
  7. yeah shes pretty rugged but only got like 65000ks on the clock, i was gonna fix her up but had better things to spend my time on
  8. hey rob how much was it to get your locks done if you dont mind me asking? Cheers Sam
  9. awesome car man, are you planning to do any modifications once you sort the rust out?
  10. cheers guys went to air liquide but turns out my bottle was out of date haha so had to go down to ctest down on hayton road and they are sorting me out with a test and fill. just in case anyone is wanting to know prices it was $45 for a cylinder test and $20 to fill it. Sam
  11. hey guys needa refill my welding bottle and havent had it done up here before just wondering where the best/cheapest place to get it done. Cheers Sam

  15. Hey guys my mate just finished converting his mint as nana spec starlet from 2k to 5k with a webber 32/36 carby and has found that it needs to be rejetted to suit his engine. would be awesome if someone could come give him a hand for beers/cash. his numbers 0278635933 and name is Jamie. tell him your from here and he will know the deal. Cheers Sam
  16. Very nice man, will look good with a little more low
  17. Hey man i like your front lip, do you have any idea where the previous owner got it from? wouldn't mind one for my Trueno Cheers Sam
  18. Wheels look nice on the front man, wish i kept them for my kp now! haha ah well
  19. haha good call.. sorry to hear about you and your flat mates gear bro, why cant these cunt's just work and buy there own shit.. drives me insane hearing about story's like this ill keep an eye out for the van on the way to Dunedin tomorrow too
  20. yep just the two wires one white, one red and there's only the one wheel with the four teeth. so ill just be using it as it is with the mechanical advance locked and the ecu controls the ignition timing? ill be ordering a few bits and pieces of this website http://www.brdracing.com for it somewhere along the line and they sell the proper aftermarket trigger wheels, so if it would be worthwhile to upgrade to that i could, but i guess if the dizzy setup wont sacrifice to much power or reliability i don't really care. I may invest in a link just yet but that will blow my budget right out, but i guess i can always reuse it with a different engine. See what happens, like you say that is the last piece of the puzzle and that is a wee way off yet. cheers for the help guys
  21. sweet mate just went down and snapped a few pics. what kind of setup's can i use with this type of dizzy? or if it needs to be modified what would be the most reliable setup to go for and easiest to tune?
  22. oh ok did not realize that you are able to do that with the distributor, i have an electronic one for it already. what is involved in the conversion other then locking the advance mechanism, will i have to run some sort of wasted spark setup? a good freind of mine has a td04l turbo i can buy for cheap actually and i already have the fuel system for it. im thinking that i will go for a megasquirt at this stage, seems like it would suit a diy conversion a bit better. how do you rate the twin fuel rail setup? long term plan is to run a 1uz in the car but that is beyond my mechanical ability at this stage, e85 sounds like it will be too.. probably best to have a muck around with a less complicated conversion first.
  23. Yep i figure it will be a lot of trial and error, but im committing and picking up a 3t longblock next week to begin mock up work with. how would you go about using the ecu to control the ignition timing if the engine uses a fairly primitive dizzy? would i have to convert it to a CAS setup? i wonder if i could adapt a 4agze or similar one to the 3t engine. i think ill take your advice and get it set up nice and reliable but build it so i can easily add the e85 later on. also what stages would you normally start with and work your way through on a project like this?
  24. damn links are cool haha sounds like it would work exactly how i had planned it in my head. What are your thoughts on running the extra injectors into the plenum on a blow through carby turbo setup? or what about running some kind of crazy setup like adding a fuel rail and injectors into the stock inlet manifold after the carby? have you had any experience with anything similar? if i do make some sort of attempt at this i would like to try this kind of set up first due to budget restrictions etc.. that fuel sensor sounds like a cool piece of kit, probably a good idea too, wouldn't want to run out of ethanol and then be pumping 20 psi into it on crappy fuel! haha
  25. yeah figured a link would be the way to go, aren't you running twin fuel rails on your 4agte? did you set it up to run duel fuels or just to run 8 standard injectors?
