  1. Alrighty then. Apologies for sideway photos and blurriness - I will blame that on the shitty lighting in our house. So...everything came individually wrapped. Cute. Forks and frame... Handlebars etc Wheels were tricky, had to widen the forks and then the axles were too wide so we had to go file them down, but success! Handlebars and seat on... TA DA! Still have pedals etc to sort but that will be after our holiday me thinks.
  2. Fuck. Forgotten how to put it back together.
  3. Here is what I was so excited about in spam. Zomg it is beautiful. Even the nuts and bolts. More to follow later. I need to stop swooning.
  4. Hey, undecided yet - want to see what the bike looks like when it comes back so will let you know. Thanks though!
  5. Success! Several sore fingers later (insert your mum joke here) and the tyres are on!
  6. Me too, I'm hoping that it comes out as schmick as what I'm thinking!
  7. I got my goodies! I know you've heard heard me talk about it. Got Dave pretty hot and bothered. Ew. Anyway. GOODIES!! Arrived in the world's biggest box. Totes not an exaggeration. I removed the stickers. Sharpie thick.. Also, there are tyres and seat. I forgot to order tubes but I'm fairly certain I can get those from the supermarket? Don't panic. I'm not (that) retarded. Should get bike back this week. Electroplater man was too scared to proceed without super explicit instructions.
  8. Haha I think my lack of bike knowledge is upsetting tomkirkgary. Tyres are skinny, but the rim is thicker - bah, you'll see.
  9. Lol. I know they are thinner, that's why I'm looking at them!
  10. Haha, I actually have no idea what I'm talking about and this wheel stuff confuses me hence I'm just repeating words... I could use existing rims but I've still got to convert them to a coaster hub and get them white. Plus I want them a bit thicker like road bike rims are. Difficult, yes.
  11. Um, the white rims - I'm after white road bike wheels with a coaster brake (I think $125 US from the site I'm looking at) and then white tyres to go with. They are 700c wheels? In terms of the seat, it's $15 US from the same site. And yea, I saw the pedals on t whites, but I think they still ended up more spency than buying from the US.
  12. Turns out I lied. Bike was taken to the paint stripper by Dave who met a man who talked waaaay to much. When he went to pick up the bike a week later, the guy was unrecognisable with crutches etc as he had literally just gotten out of hospital after being in a car crash. So I had to wait a bit longer. Anyway - after the paint stripping. Yuck. The badge - which is now bent and on the floor somewhere. But that's okay - my bike summit sticker can go there instead. A valiant effort to try and separate some part of the bike.. After some armwork by Dave, Ned and me it's all cleaned up and ready for the next step. Also, I've been looking at wheels, seats and bits and bobs and have these eyed up... Eek, those photos are a bit large.
  13. I keep it supple for back handing my hoes
  14. Nothing like bike summit to get my butt into gear, so purchased this pink rust delight from the former clap capital (Hamilton) for the hefty price tag of $46. In true style, got around to dismantling it after 1 or 2 weeks and got everything lined up for the grumpy bum old man electroplater which I will have to woo to convince him to accept a bike frame along with a million tiny nuts, bolts and washers. Also, got a special order from Milwaukee today which was highy exciting. Woo!
  15. Sad face at missing out on such a sweet looking weekend. Someone somewhere needs to get that photo of Pete made into a life size cut out.
  16. So, the real story is that Liv was awake the whole time - not very hard when you can hear Dave and Stephen outside giggling like school girls about how "ssssh it's a surprise!" and I bust them in action at the bottom of the stairs. Afterwards, Stephen proceeds to run away from me because he is scared. Oh, and Dave did not sleep on the couch - such a drama queen!
  17. Another good system is everything you touch in the morning, instead of putting it back in it's place, put it in a pile in an obvious place where you won't miss it (e.g. in the middle of the hallway) and that is what you need to take with you. E.g. - brush teeth - touch toothbrush and toothpaste so put it in the hallway. Touch hair product, put it in the hallway. Getting out a pair of undies to put on, grab out some extra pairs and stick em in the hallway and so on until you have made a mess.
  18. This is to discourage Hamiltonians from leaving and tainting the rest of the country. Keep them contained!!
  19. Metservice says "Rain developing, chance thundery. Gusty northeasterly"
  20. Are u serious Chris??! Change the date so you can make it and then bail at the last minute? Rude.
