  2. The 4.5 L VH45DE featured variable valve timing, also known as VTC, from 1990 until 1995. This was due to the "Gentleman's Agreement", requiring all imports to produce no more than 280 hp. Nissan got around this by publishing the hp rating without VTC, meaning it's actual power rating is closer to 310 hp and 330 lb·ft. of torque.

  4. for that kinda money i would deff go VH45de vh- later model one with steel backed guides etc... then get a flywheel/adaptor plate kit to bolt it to nissan silvia manual box (they are available from the usa).   5. there always seem to be cheap 86 billies on trademe- maybe grab them as they come up and get them rebuilt and valved to suit your car and springs?
  6. disagree sorry. no idea on 86 rear seat weight but all the plastic trim and carpet weighs next to nothing, certainly not 30kg!!! dash pad weighs 3kg because its got a steel backing, yes? removal of sound proofing obviously saves weight but he doesn't seem to be talking about this. Pull interior out, remove sound proofing, replace interior... boom. Feel free to weigh your plastic bits plus carpet then prove me wrong.

  11. his carb is not the same as the one on my 3a. The throttle cable only manually opens the throttle about 10% of the way. im told the rest is vac actuated.
  12. stripped the 85 today and gave it a good waterblast inside and out. These things are flimsy!!

Mates trying to get his ae85 running. his motor has a funny carb with a sliding barrel rather than a butterfly. hard to explain. does anyone have info on these carbs? specifically, how to get rid of all the emissions shit, bla bla. any kinda diagram showing hoses and wires would be great.

  24. nah i'll sell those wheels as want something much much wider to fill out some TRD guard blisters. I'll clean these wheels up a bit and sell them... or sell them as is. I had a chat to my cousin yesterday- He's a panel beater. He'll be coming over to spray the paint and primer plan is 13bt, bigger diff, trd n2 kit
