  1. Very cool dude! I'll watch videos tonight when at home. Id love to give that a go sometime too. Don't forget the ability to 3d complex parts in plastic to provide relief in your sand.. There's guys here that would help if needed I'm sure! Have u seen the anthill casting?
  2. Yip, youd want to be stoned first.
  3. A decent helmet is priceless. I get frustrated easily.. Flipping helmet plus holding filler plus torch drives me mad.
  4. Yes, tig, 120a. I think sensors above and below lenses are mandatory. I know u can't get arc eye from the flashing but asside from pissing ya off and fucking with concentration I had to keep stopping as just couldn't see when the lenses would go dark again Lol.. Too many stars
  5. From trade tools aint they? My work supplied them too. I kept getting flashed as work angle ment the sensors got blocked Got mine overseas for about 150nzd. Big screen, four sensors.. Not flashed since
  6. Hemi sounds like a mechanical genius. Could u feel any thrust off it?
  7. Pretty cool artwork. We have less in common than I thought You actually finish projects. Although it is your job so guess you have to HAHS
  8. Additionally.. Everyone I have spoken to has said these fail pretty often. Many of these blokes had bought whole new motors or compressors thinking these caps were pricy as fuck Lol
  9. This is what I got back after a chat. Our Chinese single phase 1.5kw 2 pole motors have a 300uf 250v start cap and a 50uf 450v run cap our Italian made 1.5kw 2 pole have a 125uf start cap and a 35uf run cap. If I had to guess I would go 40uf 450vac we have these in stock they are $28 Plus Gst, And earlier, Does your motor have two capacitors? If so the run capacitor is 450V low micro fared say somewhere around 20 to 50 if it is the start capacitor it will be 250v and high micro fared around 200 the start capacitor is in series with the start switch if the start switch is faulty it holds the start cap in and that will kill it after a few seconds.
  10. End thread. Got free info from a pro
  11. What capacitor should I be buying as need a new one. 3hp single phase from a compressor. The original one is unreadable.
  12. Could you post some pics of work you have finished? Be interesting
  13. If ur doing a one off and don't care about durability (its just a couch, not a car) then there is no need for a mold. Just fg over your foam then sand bog sand bog. Will just take time ( and since you don't have a real job I'm guessing you have plenty) Or fg over foam then thin memory foam then leather.
  14. This does not matter at all now as tortron left his hand pump at home. Edit. Lol. Hand pumps make for awkward airport luggage searches
  15. Throttle cable, radiator? Modified shifter for auto, drive shaft, different sump? Tach and speedo alterations? Random fadteners , cert if going on the street, will clutch master fit? And there will be more
  16. 3k is CHEAP Mitch.. And really not possible for anything worthwhile. Break down costs of swap and you easily get past that
  17. I thought this was interesting as hell.
  18. Dunno if mentioned or if Iv already asked.. What's your input shaft Tom? Mines been upgraded to turbo sized input. No idea why as Iv not heard of a stock input failing..(though Iv not looked either)
  19. Imageshack is good bro. Who knows if they might have the same issues though!
  20. http://watercut.co.nz/contact.html I really could not reccomend them highly enough. Brilliant service, brilliant product and their pricing compared to others was just incredible. I forget now but they were something like half the price of the most expensive quote.. And their pricing structure makes sense. I sent out for about 10 quotes and it was bloody interesting getting shit back from these people. They all have little tricks for screwing ya.. Like saying NO SETUP COST but then charging 3x more per part. Additionally they sent me my stuff before I actually paid. We had some miss communication (I think I was dealing with workshop guys rather than management) and I ended up not being able to pay by CC as expected. Then I was made redundant. I finally paid them 6 months late and they were absolutely nothing but understanding and fucking awesome the whole time. A++++
  21. Just a little advice.. Don't be afraid to look outside of auk and post. When I did my last run of laser cutting I saved SO MUCH by shopping round. Just an idea.. I'm sure that other place is sweet.
  22. Haha. For me that's the most impressive part so far
  23. How did you get those mount plates to hug the engine so closely? Or is that an illusion
  24. Won't that mess up the heat transfer of the fins?
  25. Wondering. Is the cycle car with kayak body going to be dual purpose? Flip upside down and go boating?
