  1. The 1jz in the JZS130 i have was really good on gas. Was about 100 a fill and about 450 - 500km to a tank round town driving. Clocked up 600 on a fill going from auckland to ohakune and around on the open roads. Like i said earlier, the 1gfe in these are straight up dangerous. So slow and u have to have ur foot flat to the floor to even pull out into traffic. I was eons ago going to fit a 1gfe out of a Altezza to my first crown i had, but never went thru with it. Would have been a good/interesting conversion. 1gfe dreams
  2. Can you have a look tell me what colour they are? were you told what brand they were? I want to lower my car but not get adjustables
  3. How is it lowered? Adjusties? It looks decent low if its just springs
  4. Yea from my modest calculations on pricing, im looking at $1300 for all the parts needed for the mystery motor vs $1500-1700 for a motor with a warranty
  5. Im trying to decide if i buy the parts to get this mysterious motor running, or just buy a complete conversion. Ideas? Kinda feeling this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/toyota/engines/auction-632529973.htm
  6. This photo makes my eyes pop everytime i see it. Sooo good.
  7. Decided to test my new phones camera, its sucks. Heres some photos of its shittyness
  8. Old mans Carina that is the start of something new and beautiful (and road legal)
  9. We bought the exact same oil cooler for the carina. Seems like a good idea until u try and fit it somewhere, then u are just left stroking ur chin going "hmmmmm" Looks cool but practicality is thrown out the window. My biggest fear is hitting something and busting the cooler, then there goes your engine (which is usually pretty nice if you justified buying an oil cooler for it other then looks).
  10. ^^ Proberly doesnt like the taste of Brasso in his coffee
  11. This car is now in the For sale thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F39857-fs-ta63-carina-auckland%2F
  12. Might be worth while looking into a gx81 chaser manual online to chase those codes as the engines are identical. I love crowns, awesome to see another S130. They are my favorite (surprise surprise)
  13. Crown repair manual, Good luck. The 1gfe in these suck dick to start with. Cool wheels though.
  14. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ No, VTNZ have no record of the car ever being registered against the chassis code and i never got it with a number plate.
  15. Sorry being daft, been a busy last few days and was scanning through
  16. Hey dude, what brand hydraulic bearing did you get?
  17. Lol, no Had a lot of enquiries about this. Car is to be sold Whole
  18. This is awesome. You should steampunk it and get it going without any panels so u can see all the copper glory. Also you sound pretty clued up on coffee machines: I see 2 solenoids and a big copper pot hahaha. good luck with this
  19. Yea the suck thing about crowns is their chassis sticks out so far under the body that it scraps well before it looks low. I can see a few issues with fuel lines being crushed and other what not if i take out those frame bushes. Cause im a sucker for punishment. Cheers to Japawagon for the crown Engine mounts, mid sump, relocated oil filter housing. Also thanks to NVMPAJ for the inspiration to do this: So now i find out if jzs13x and uzs13x chassis are the same, cause i know for a fact gs13x and uzs13x chassis have the engine mounts in different places....
  20. Yea, we have been battling with trying to see if it can be road legal for 3 months now. Dont worry, like the pheonix it will be reborn
  21. Not very, current one is a good inch lower then the old one was. Could all go with being a bit lower.
  22. Today is a sad day in the history of this car. As things have progressed. This car cannot be revinned as the chassis tags were removed to paint and misplaced some time ago. We have been unsuccessful so far to track down previous ownership papers (when it was registered) and the chassis code is no longer registered in the VIN system so they have no history of it ever being on the road. The cage in it cannot be homologated as the hoop diameter conforms to the old rules not the current MSNZ ones regarding main hoop diameter. I am too poor to build this into a hack My old man purchased his own car to put his V8 into. So i will be selling this car (rolling body) if anyone is interested. Will post an add in the for sale section once engine and gearbox are removed. It will come with: - New monroe shocks all round - King Springs all round - T3 adjustable camber plates - Globe 15x8 wheels - Semi Slicks that are proberly stuffed - TRD LSD only 1000km old - spare sub shafts - Spare tail lights - 2 fixed back bucket seats but no seat rails - Manual steering rack - A series cross member - Round headlight conversion - Battery relocator box - Walbro intank RX7 pump - EFI tank - 3 Core radiator - 600x300x90 Intercooler with 3" inlet and outlet pipes Let me know if you are interested. As i said i will list an add closer to selling. This car will make a perfect drift car, matsuri missle, or track hack. Intercooler and radiator setup
