Try to find it on the net man cause it has been a while since I looked in one of those carbs. The function is to give you the power between idle and main jets to stop back firing and smooth acceleration. It is normally mounted in the center of the carb but alot of hitachi carbs (assuming you have this type) have them in the fuel bowl also. Corey

Check the power valve operation in the carb. If all electrical things are ok it might be blown or damaged Corey

Its gone....but that SU needs to be way bigger. The set up I ran was a custom thing from some place in the states that does Harley stuff. I fitted a 40DCOE and after much jetting issues (due to the guy doing it was so far out on the original setup) it went very well. The only BIG trouble I had was the fact that the turbo compressor wheel came off (RJAY turbo's were common for this apparently???) and it caught fire in the exhaust lol New T3/T4 set up and away again trying to jet it for the change in power. Not a silly question man. Honestly I don't know but can measure the height from head to block face to the top of the manifold when I get up there this weekend. The efi heads are a very good head for this application and the manifold to head flange makes it hard to adapt to other non efi heads. Corey

Gaz, I have heard of people running Sierra strus in escorts but I'm yet to veiw for myself the advantage you are looking for. I am stripping one out next week and can take some measurements from the bottom balljoint to the stub axle to see if there is any advantage. In the past race cars I have had and been on teams for they use camber slots you weld to the crossmember but vertically not horizontally, the bolts that you get in the kit have big washers with the hole drilled offset to allow the movement. Have a look at a hilux inderpendent front end or falcon rear end to see what I'm talking about. I think you can go 5mm from memory and that takes a lot of bump steer out. The kits were available through Autoline or the shock shop franchises. I don't know if it can be done but could you modify your crossmember so the TCAs were outside the chassis but the centre of the mount hole was above the lower flange? This would possibly upset the top end of the strut to much. There was when I was young you could buy a TCA that was adjustable and offset at one end to remedy your complaint......But they had some very bad crashes in circuit cars, I was told they were the cause which led to them being removed from circulation. The TCAs should be about 5mm lower at the balljoint end taken at static height to give the best life out the joint. Too low=balljoint bind sometimes mistaken for bump steer. UncleJake, they are tapper fitted ball into the bottom of the strut but that is the best way to fixit if it were the other way. Corey

I work in the truckshop most of the time but do other stuff when it is quiet also if it is to quiet I have been known to be a broom jockey I would if it were mine, it is one of the most advanced oils available and Catapiller was the first to make diesel oils in the world so I would have to say they have a slight advantage lol. Make sure you run the correct oil filter no matter what the brand as there are quite a few that fit. Are you an apprentice?? Corey
