  1. There Avon Motorsport CR500's, they are recommended for 6.5''-8.5'' rims. This page here is what you need to show you certifier- http://www.avonracing.com/road_legal_page.aspx He said they work out to be about $300 each ex UK. You have 9''s so this is probably of no use to you at all but some one out there may find it helpful
  2. Dam you! Know I ''need'' one of these too. Love your work man
  3. Cheers guys and Seedy you got to at lest keep posting about the wagons, gota motivate me do do some thing great with mine. I'm still thinking hydraulic over coil over but ill see how your bag set up goes and see if that changes my mind. Oh and that bloody Datsun to, I must own at least one of those before I die. And knowing you there's probably some other sweet car/s you have hidden away that you haven't told me about yet because chances are I will want them to. And yes I will be in Hawks bay on the weekend of labour, my car just may be a little smaller than the ones I usually bring...
  4. Looks good dude, have you thought about painting the wheel centers a different colour, maybe charcoal like the steel wheels?
  5. Will see him tonight so ill find out what brand tyres and what he had to do to get the ok to run that size tyre on that size rim
  6. Its worth it, looks so sweet in those shots dude just needs a few other sweet old cars around
  7. Jordan aka nanarei is going though this now, got the ok to run 195/45's on 15x8.5'' As long as you get a letter from the tyre manufacturer saying that its safe it sounds like there pretty ok with it from what I hear.
  8. I might have to talk to Arrow about getting some of these ''metal sleeve insert thingys'' on a few of my wheels, no one in Hamilton knows what im talking about when Ive asked. Have you found some tyres for the front yet? A 175/50 has the same over all diameter as a 195/45 but I have not seen them for sale in NZ. They look to have about the same stretch on an 8 as the 195/45's do on a 9'' as well. Well kind of haha
  9. I hear ya brother brother, great to see your still tinkering away at it
  10. I think I need to work at them a bit more, also thought of keeping the brass fittings but using alloy hard lines just in there natural brushed finish so will see if I can find some of that in 3/8th and give it a go
  11. Cheers man guys, the old girls taking a bit longer than I had hoped (an extra 18 months so far haha) but good things take time. Mike was there any thing in particular that you wanted me to do to the FD or should I just pick it up and let you know when I'm finished? Cheers I like engine bays that look almost stock/simple like they could of been factory fitted, to me its all about making the engine fit into the car rather than a lot of say the ausi show cars were they make the car fit around the engine and then just mash as much shiny crap and braided lines in as they can. KISS-Keep it simple stupid
  12. With the car now sitting a bit/lot lower there was one other thing I had never really been happy with, the exhaust... So I set about "gently massaging" the floor a little before cutting up the front section of the exhaust again and making it fit a bit more snugly. The hole exhaust now tucks up level and even higher in places than the chassis rails. I also added two flexi joins to make it a little easier to line up wile assembling it and also so it has some give if it dose get caught up on some thing. A new screamer pipe also had to be made as this used to come under the front of the chassis rail and dump under the front right guard. Not a lot has changed in the engine bay, I did paint the inlet manifold throttle body and intake pipe with VHT Wrinkle paint but didn't get enough heat into it so it didn't react properly, just means Il have to do it again when I find an old oven I can borrow/steel. I also started playing with the copper vacuum lines but this is a lot harder/more time consuming than I thought it would be and also doesn't look quite as good as I had hoped. Will think about it and see what else I can come up with I guess discussion ect viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20102
  13. So since I've been sitting around doing pretty much nothing for the past two weeks I figger its about time I up date this. I got a few more wheels but firstly a massive thank you to Jordan aka nanarei for being the middle man and Ewan for sorting it all out over in Japan. The first pair were these 13x8'' Jovite (type 3's?) Then a few weeks later a pair of 13x8.5''s and a pair of 13x9''s SSR MK iii's showed up All now fitted with the would famous Yokohama 175 50 13''s When I first put them on they just didn't look right and I stated looking for a slightly larger tyre say a 185 55 13 or similar but after some slight "adjustments" to the suspension they have now grown on me. At this height the top diff arms are hitting the chassis and since the diff probably should be shortened a little (about 25mm ether side with the 9''s) I have decided I might as well upgrade the diff to a hilux item and at the same time I'm going to move the top arms inside of the chassis/strut towers which should give me about an extra 70-90mm travel to play with. These pics are just mocking up were the top arms will come though the floor, I have since cut most of the rear bulkhead out and removed the fuel set up and battery as the floor will need to be modified to give the diff head more clearance.
  14. Looks very tidy dude, I love that interior trim Cuts aren't that bad as long as you get some shorter shocks to go with them. Use GT4 Celica ones in the front and just match some thing up to fit in the back, I ended up using light truck ones of some sort in the back of mine. Sory if I missed it but what year is your Mark II?
  15. Oh dear, I did start one but then had it deleted as thought this was for the MK II for some silly reason. I blame the codean
  16. I to like those wheels, modern but still with a hint of retro thrown in. 195/45's all round?
  17. That's weird, the weekend before you guys came up I went over every thing to make sure it was good for the trip and noticed the clutch fluid was down a bit low so filled it up and just figured it was from siting on the last guys drive for nearly 2 years, maybe the slave cylinder seal has gone hard and cracked? I never got sick of the rooster tails of sparks, just wait till you get a few people in her its like driving a grader haha
  18. For saving her, made me so sad every time I had to move her out of the shed to work on other cars so its great to see back on the road. Gutted about the green sticker but at least it sounds like the cop was cool, I also used to love spraying who ever was behind me with sparks/bits of road/cats eyes
  19. Sory chaps, got to weld a diff into a lancer for some fag tonight so going to have to give this one a miss
  20. I don't know Nissan's to well my self but they seem to chop and change a bit, we got two s14 face lift non turbo autos at work one is four stud and one is five so go figger haha. Have been trying 13'' wheels on the back of one of the s14s and alloys fit mint but steel wheels hit on the caliper. Will find some ae92/101/111 etc calipers and compare them with the Silvia ones to see if there any slimmer. Cheers again guys for all the help.
  21. Thats awsome, cheers bro I never knew that. Also thanks heaps for the pics Kpr, you make it all look so easy haha. Also it a long shot but ive got a few s14 rear ends at work, would you have any idear if the disks are the same as the s13 ones? Cheers
  22. Yea pics would be great cheers man, also I take it you run the s13 hand break set up with the small drum break inside the diff? If so was this hard to set up around the hilux diff at all? Il be running standard 13'' steel wheels most of the time but ill be shortening the diff a bit to fit the 13x9''s so will be able to add some spacers to help the stocky's clear the calipers.
  23. Cheers guys, Kpr I was reading though your ae85 thread as I was thinking about this, did you use s13 rotors and ae92 calipers on your hilux diff? Was there much work in getting every thing to fit/work?
