  1. That wasn't me. And as I'm no longer trusted with moderation powers I cant remove them
  2. Flange looks like a goer so have ordered one and getting it sent direct to workshop. The flame still burns....
  3. Just found this, waiting to hear back re stud spacing and hole size but might be the ticket. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/exhaust/auction-1525546973.htm?rsqid=d74fad984945435b902b60f79579b019
  4. yeh it is, and yeh i think you did. i mentioned to them that getting a blank flange for the turbo itself is easy enough and they could fashion a downpipe from that, and he said that yes that would be an option but they would prefer to try get a flange for the end of the downpipe first. to be honest it sounded like they hadnt tried very hard yet (they had made a template and were waiting to get out to a nissan wrecker they se or something like that)
  5. Hey, if im paying people to do it, I dont care how they do it, just as long as I dont have to think about it.
  6. Haha I started off with an offensive post like that but decided to give the poor child the benefit of the doubt.
  7. Nein. They haven't started and are pissing around looking for a flange, well infact waiting to go out to a wrecker somewhere to see if they can find one.
  8. Haha classic! Haven’t spent any money on this in a while so its Over due for some wallet opening.....and I thinks it’s about to get spanked hard
  9. Good news and bad news. Good news, is overnight parts from Japan arrive (cheers Scott!), new sifter bushes as some of mine are non existent so the gearshifter is as floppy as KK's butthole after wagnats. Bad news is I spoke to the garage (where the car is at the moment to get the exhaust sorted), and first up they are having trouble finding a flange to suit the turbo downpipe, and also they looked at the brakes and the hub seal is actual the primary culprit, not the wheel cylinder (which is also leaking), which is dumb. So hoping they can get everything sorted within the next week or so, to give me time to try get legal for wagnats. Discussion
  10. So getting exhaust looked at on Tuesday, was just going to get the turbo hooked up to the factory system but have since decided I really should commit and get a full system done. Downpipe off turbo is 2.5” I’m pretty sure so will likely go for that. also had a look at the non operational right rear brake, found the culprit (see picture, leaking cylinder) So now need to try and find a new cylinder and shoes and the shoes are pretty contaminated
  11. Get excited. Forecast has improved and looks like we should be dry! Ill have gay(z)bo on hand just incase anyway.
  12. Bugger all, we must have been pretty close!
  13. Haha there’s a bit more than sweeping to be done, it’s a fucking bomb site at the moment (just ask Niki, she was far from impressed)
  14. Turns out that if you plug all the plugs back in everything magically works. Strange. So sorted the changing issue and put the front of the car back together. Still can’t 100% find source of oil leak (ran up to temp and no leak), but will keep an eye on that fizzing at the bung is an understatement, bring on wag nats!
  15. So it was actually a long storey to get to this point.... Fuel issues appeared to just be lack of sufficient bleeding and battery needing a proper charge so got that sorted. Then got it running briefly but then the cam belt tensioner slipped and the belt spun. So refittied that with some bigger looking bits off the iron final motor (for the tensioner). Got it running again only to be greeted by a intermittent but viscous knocking noise. Called in the heavy hitters (master mechanic Al Borland) who suggested it might be diesel knock from dodgy injectors, and this was supported bu the noise going away instantly when cracking the injector line on one of the cylinders. So we replaced that injector with one from the old motor and hey presto, no noise. Then it started knocking again but we traced it to a different cylinder, so said fuck it let’s just swap the lot of them. Which we did, and this seems to have done the trick. Couple of test runs up and down the road and no dramas. so next up is figure out why the alternator isn’t charging, track down a oil leak (looks like rocket cover gasket), piece the rest of the front of the car back together, and do something about the exhaust (currently nothing). Was going to just get someone to tie the turbo into the factory system (it’s in the right place) but after hearing it with no exhaust I don’t think that will cut it so perhaps just a simple single muffler setup and a bigger diameter pipe. Again, huge thanks to joe and al for their help (and JB the other night)
  16. Yeh pretty much haha and a battery with plenty of juice
  17. Huge thanks to Joe and Al for their help (Joe on the tools and Al to cast his watchfull over our problems. Injectors fixed the issue by the way) ill just leave these here
  18. Yeh keen for one. Hope the wagon works on time.....
  19. Yeh the second is the inlet, the first is the return. Top marks. Will pop them off as well and have a nosey. Cheers!
  20. I do appreciate your concern however, its wouldn't have been the first time I've done something stupid.
  21. I had the master mechanic round last night (seedy al) and this is what we concluded so it’s not just me being a nupty. We bleed it up to the pump but bugger all coming out the other end. Checked it was getting voltage to the solenoid etc and tried a jump wire as well but no change.
