not trying to sound like a prick.......but are you sure its actually the bumpstops? would be worth having a peak under the car wile someone is jumping up and down on it, and source exactly where the noise is coming from....might just be something silly.... woth a shot anyway

discuss viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18863 and so it begins..... bonnet is at panel beaters so have made a start on the rest of the car. front right guard was full of huge patches of loose job that i could pick off with my fingers...filled in spot light holes on front valence, as well as holes where it used to have a front spoiler....lol havn a bit of trouble getn the chrome trim off from around the rear arches as the gurads have all been rolled at some point hence hiding the nuts which i need to undo to take the chrome off. will have to try un roll a bit i suppose few pics

from what ive seen a 2L pinto looks exactly the same as a ca18det......

yeh karl is going to check his stash for me haha. they are bloody hard to find tho, especially in good nick. since iv had the car ive seen 2 for sale. one was mint and sold for 500, the other was prety shity, fair bit of rust etc and sold for 100. but yeh id rather pay for a new bonnet than to get mine repaired

haha. just been round a few more places. 2 said they werent that keen cause of the time involved so that it doesnt warp the rest of the bonnet, as about a inch wide strip will need to be taken out all across the bonnet. another place said 750+ gst, and another said worst case scenario 400 id be happy to pay up to 400 i spose....will see how my bonnet hunt goes.

oh real? sweet i might go for another drive then...got nothing else to do in this damn rain cheers

got quoted 600+ to fix by rustorations in chch....so am on the look out for another one. any know of one? is a lot worse in real life, would need cutting about an inch back and replacing the entire front edge.

hey all. looking at getting a few bits on the cortina tidied up so i can paint it after the summer (that is when i have money). there are two areas on the car that need attention. the front edge of the bonnet has quite a bit of rust, and the front right guard is full off bog and cracking etc can someone reccomened a place to do this? i understand 'you get what you pay for' but am looking for somewhere with decent prices.....not necesarily after show car finish etc cheers
