  1. well after mentioning stripes, yesterday jarrod from the down the road wandered down with these, id been slack gettinn back to him bout exactly what i wanted but he made an excellent job of makin them and puttin them on
  2. havent been up to much, but gave the escort its first wash yesterday. also got the new plate on it as well just after it was registered and warranted. Still havent got round to gettin a mate to put the stripes on, but cant rush these things Also had a slight driveshaft vibration which was only minor but enough to be annoying, so had to raise the gear box to get my pinion to gearbox angle the same, so had to raise the trans tunnel which means my consoul no longer fits, but driveline is now smooth as. But also had to lengthen my dump pipe off the turbo as the raise in gbox raised the ass of the engine as well. also had to put a rsm in as well, smaller steering wheel and lower seat height meant i could only see the speedo to about 60kph and not much of the loud dial either.
  3. congrats. you must be happy with how she turned out. nice
  4. everytime ive got a cert theyve done everything, went in for adjusties and the wheels were done as well, and if its got non oe stuff on it its best to get it certed for everything, keeps the law and insurance companies happy.
  5. starting to come along nicely, been watchin this build but been to lazy to post. im liking the wheels. good work.
  6. well done . are ya using a sheet or orbital sander? lost ya finger prints yet ?

  8. yeah will do. you goin out to the practice day tomorrow at teretonga? cheers. i had to move the console back a bit to suit the longer box. dont think ill be runnin to many modern things, havent even thought about a radio to be honest also done the timing tonight, it was retarded to fuck so that should make her run a bit better running on song.
  9. if your bodywork is good id go gloss mate.
  10. i like the alloy with the rivets visible not blended in,m this pic cracks me up everytime.
  11. if youve got the money go alloy and rivets unless you can get some mint fibregleass ones. got a project thread started?
  12. just gonna change the ujs in the driveshaft, get it balanced, then wheel alignment and then i might take it out to the track for a skid. call me mr sensible.
  13. just a couple of extra clips on the brake line, a stone gaurd for the outlet of the petrol tank and a clamp to hold the battery inside the battery box . so nothin major at all really.
  14. cheers for the comments fellas. been a long time coming. now legal but still more i want to do.
  15. this got put on today so shot round and got one of these and finally to the post shop for $109 of motoring bliss. love the classic
  16. wow wee what a family sized weapon. dont have a spare driveshaft yoke for a cortina by any chance? how ya doin after the shake up? looks pretty bad.
  17. supercharged pinto ya say? cant say ive seen one before, good move this will make the builds bottom line a bit top heavy now wreckin it will be pretty straight forward? glenn
  18. will be good to put some kms on the clock, like most projects i doubt it will ever be finished, it will be into the 'rolling resto' stage
  19. after lookin for a gear lever boot i went to the wreckers and spotted this, looked close enough and with a small mod it fits like cock in sock. its off a holden astra. i also rebuilt the steering rack, and steering coupling with nolathane bushes, reshimmed the rack to suit and its good as new. and took it for a warrant check today, flew through with only a headlight needing adjusting. all good so just need to get it certed now, then wof sticker, rego, then drive.
  20. have a read through this. http://bbs.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?138163-1600-pinto-head
  21. soda is far less abrassive on ya old panel steel, sand can distort panels and leave them pitted if theyre not to flash on the gun, and then theres the issue of gettin all the excess sand out
  22. Cheers yeah its certainly bright, hopefully wont have to change the bulb for fear of blinding people, probably better than the headlamps at the front.
  23. looks like youve got a bit of work ahead of ya be nice in the end though. any chance of making the pics a bit smaller, you certainly achieved the objective of showin us the rust
  24. after originally not goin to have reversing lights, then not finding any descent old ones, i decided to put the old single rally spot on the back so i can reverse down our longish driveway at night. didnt want to drill a hole through my back panel so just mounted it to the bumper. does the trick. safety first
  25. just put an 82-87 deg switch on the escorts fan, one wire that grounds the coil side of the relay to switch it on. $34 dollars from memory.
