  2. Like gaz said, Chop a hole fit engine then bend / weld one up yourself to fill hole seems to be the best option to me
  3. Thanks 4 organising DA...Deff keen for OTP next times
  4. On way home from WOF, Love gazzs mags am so keen on 15's now am going to have to keep an eye out (lowering blocks removed at rear for wof) The new tyres ... Which give 65mm clearance at leafs hence the reason wof man wasn't that keen on them. I prefer the look of the 15s they fill in the flares alot better and dont rub.
  5. Woop Woop finaly got there she now has a Rego and Wof Chur all the boys who helped. Mk1mad/Nick for all the initial work carried out, Mike with removal of pint hoe, Gazza's Old man! 7. Small update of my dramas for the week; Engine mount breaking The car now has sweet breaks probably better than my subarus and the handling has improved significantly also New cylinders on rear Some new go fast red rubba The superlites have been fitted with 175 50's now and sits lower which i forgot to take a pic of anyways i was happy with them untill i fitted gazzes wheels and now i want 15's i prefer the proprtion it gives the car. the 13's will do for now or though the WOF man doesnt like them And really want some of these now
  8. New cylinder in but failed on it not quite being adjusted correctly (hopefully the prob) as the left rear is still slightly weaker than the other side. He also decided to fail me on my new tyres being to much of a change in diameter from the original ones grrr so doing wof with Gazze's bitch n wheels tommorrow morning jut wanna knock the bastard off
  9. Oops sorry lowgan my bad haha tyres are from Tony's Tyre service Petone Chris moment rite there yo
  10. First qoute was $205 and i was like oh fuck 2nd quote $170 little better and the 3rd quote which i went with was for $150 for bridgstones from boe repairs. They are on there ways from Dorkland so overnight hopefully. You just have to haggle them down and ring around telling them what other people have offered you, 6 months ago i couldn't find these tyres anywhere for some reason.
  11. Went for a wof today at VTNZ on adalade rd. Failed on ten things, fixed eight of them so far. all thats left to do now is fit new tyres as my massive ones are rubbing so will go on the hunt for 175 50 13's tomorrow and need to fix the interior high beam light so that it comes on when lights are on full beam. Am fairly stocked car it running mint now.
  12. Woop woop i will be there with bells on!!! Took the esky for a WOF today and just have two things left two fix and it will have a WOF tomorrow...hopefully
  13. Because your mum is online ... na submitting my CV / trying to find that post grad website duncan was talking about on SJS cant find the frink'n thing though. I recon the stripes on the front look mean make the car look speed e racer styles.
  14. I agree with UJ i think it would look slightly wrong / unbalanced if it didnt atleast have the bonnet stripes and IMO they look way awsome too like totally
  15. Just got back from painting booth with gaz, this paint job is of the fuck n hook its mint!!! Bastard has ended up with a paintjob that shits on mine dam using mine as the learning curve anyways it has come up really straight and the paint has been laid down really well. Now for the fun bit sticking the CA in and other bits n pieces
  16. Hey boe gaz said ya were going to come around, I just set him up with a gun in his hand and as we speak he is lay n down the first coat of high build primer been a long 4 days but almost there . Should have a mean paintjob by the time we have finnished with her! bastard is going to end up with a better paint job than me!
  17. Chur boe. The main two are painting with the correct air pressure from your gun and adding more thinners when mixing paint than suggested especially with clear coat otherwise it will go on to dry. And get cloths from the paint shop that are called tack whipes or something? UJ? and wipe the car down with them seconds before pinting they pick up all the dust. Appart from that i would say you have the rest under control from the look of the awsome job your doing so far!
  18. Did a couple more hours today. Couldn't be bothered getting out the welder to weld around the gearstick so riveted a piece of steel on bit rough but oh well. Then stumbeled accross my old carpet in this poor state. So yeah kept the centre section and replaced the side wing bits with new carpet which turned out like so Everything needs a good clean but im not one for that stuff and you get the drift. And found the 'Escort' badge from when i shaved the boot so decided to stick that on the dash By lownslowz, shot with DSC-W80 at 2008-03-27 Fixed the Gbox, got the wheel allignment closer, hard wired in the fan and poper but now the poper is playing up rite pain in the bum might have to have a trip to pick a part. fixed a few other niggling problems to the point where i basiclky just need to mount the pasangers seat and i will see what WOF man says. Oh and made a sweet 'Performance superlites' thing 4 centre of my wheel
  19. Drivers seat 100% mounted to original rails was a bit of a challenge on the brain but got there eventually with this wack e design. Fixed the final bit of rust in the sill was double skined so a little tricky but done now And a rondom pic
  20. Mean bro yeah would like to will see what the bank account is like got an interview tomorrow so fingers crossed. Um to do list... Tune the carb/return spring Weld up the Gbox hole area Want new lower profile tyres Install pasanger seat lol half way there Get a new boot poper switch because i just managed to fry my one while soldering to it. put carpet in and a shroud around gearleaver install sounds, just not the same cruze n without music and i need something to defin out all the rattling. front wheels neew allignment as i put a new rack and tie rods in. allign headlights somehow as they are miles out, and new bulbs for indicators, headlights and brakes one of each has somehow managed to blow. tidy up all the wiring Make new retaining brake pins somehow managed to loose the last set i made. and yeah thats all i can think of from the top of my head Oh and i may of destroyed the Gbox already any a ways iv learn't its easy to get the escort going sidways up and down Korokoro locos are going to hate me. Having a working bee on Gazza's escort on Friday ... yay painting my favorite
  21. Exaust Fitted for only $230!!! with flange fitted and steel aluminium coated stuff that shouldn't rust used which i cant remember the name off? (I/UJ supplied the Muff which is a HSV S/S thing that sounds awsome) Fitted by; Advanced Vehicle Servicing 04-586 6230 139 Hutt Park Rd Gracefield Lower Hutt He used to work at pitstop at the end of Petone and has just started his own buisness and is an awsome young cunt. Picked up some slicks from UJ (Chur Boe ) that have only been used once/good as new, but have gone hard so going to try and restore them with gladwrap and some liquid stuff that go-cart little people use. Plan to buy Bizzo's widdened steelies of em and put them those. Speedo Cable has been fitted, Which for some reason had to be shavel thinner as the escorts cables face was about 3mm thick and the sierra cables face only .5mm thick. trimmed back a little more space for the gearstick that removed one rattle and might have a go at welding a new shroud around it tomorrow and fitting a gearstick boot. Been doing test driving around the hills now it doesn't set of every house and car alarm i go past and the brakes lock up fairly easily so they work hunk e dory. Next job is to finally get around to fitting the seats.
  22. Haha Temperature gauge i ment, you fellas should be able to interprate my retard know nothing about carness buy now and awsome england, anyways found out it goes in the hole to the side of the engine block.
  23. Oh real, im booked in for it to be done tommorrow morning, he is only charging $270 with a join at the extractors (Flange?). Compared to pitstops $750 odd i thought that was way cheap just dont tell him you know Unka Jake....? Haha how come
  24. Yeah easy as its just a solinoid kit, you can get them on trademe....http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... htm...easy to instal as long as your escort is the later model that has the door unlocking tab at the top of the door not the earlyer models that have the built into the handle. Am just having a play around with installing the thermostat, newb question but where do ya plug her into the pinto? into the block or the head? It looks like it would fit into the blocks hole is that correct?
