I put a weber 32/36 on my 1300, went well with mi foot planted and with mi foot off the pedal, the rest of the time it was fuking gutless & chewed through the gas. the 1300 was standard tho, revved out to over 6,000 rpm... then blew up as for the diff problem, just lock it until you can find a replacement

Rough down changing can also break diffs in my experience, rolling up to a roundabout, shifted down into 2nd and pop, no diff (it was wineing like a rape victum before hand tho..)

Change your plugs / leads and run it on atleast 96, worked for me
