Who owns a GX71 in hamilton sacked as
Spencer replied to eritate's topic in Upper North Island Region
the longchaps are nice but needs some more rim, looks like its rolling bikkies from the back -
^ well the brakes on ya wagon while they pull it up ok will go pretty quick after a few speedy stops. Your going to be going alot quicker with the 4age in there its like twice the power of the original k series. Our ke20 with a 4age down in taupo failed certs on stock brakes with good pads etc and thats a lighter car with similar brakes same engine. But some people have passed on the stock shit so meh But no way I'd roll on them
-
it will honestly just need the holes slotted or a tiny weld we've done 4ages into 20's a 35 and my old ke70 before and have a stash of x-members from 20's 30's and 70's. I'll bring them up after new year they're all similar some have little bends in them and can be flipped to get it in the correct spot its like the simplest bit of your conversion. Just use a seatbelt if you cant find anything Your biggest concern should be if your buying those trademe mounts where they put the engine, whos wiring it? and get a good fuel system with a surge tank. 'd also look at brakes, but with good pads the stock 30 ones would just do for certs but you'd still fade them at the track. Ae86 shits way to dear I'd mash some x6 mark 2 struts (slight overkill but dirt cheap) in there preferably chopped down. probably should start saving and run coilover front on them and get it all cert'd at once
-
depends where you mount the engine, theres about 1 zillion different rwd celicas get this guy to clarify which one. Would take fuck all to mod your existing one than find one from some form of celica. I slotted the 2 outside holes of random ke20,30 and 70 gearbox memebers to fit different shit several times. Its pretty simple as they only bolt to the floor with 2 bolts instead of 4 like bigger stuff
-
Is this the thing that alters rear brake strength when there is more weight in the car?? Nah bey only vehicles that would have big loads have them utes etc. Guessing he means he has to much rear bias and needs a restrictor to give less rear bias most cars run this factory
-
^ yea if its where brad says going width ways seems like a sweet idea. contouring and welding 5mm plate under my car stuff that theres got to be a more elegant solution
-
60*5mm following the floor of the car fuck that job what the hell for? Edit ok, seems excessive. But guess i havnt seen it

^ cutties will ride one million times better than compressed shit, esp if you get some new shocks to match. Compressed springs always end up with naff all better spring rate than they originally had so your low as with sloppy gay springs. At least cutting coils off firms it up, customs are the way to go to get it sweet and legit. Theres alot of us rolling cutties and seriously I took mine on the track and they were so sweet plus done zillions of kms in cut cars. Theres no way any dodgy shits going to happen if the springs are captive and they seat nice in the perches
-
^ haha wasnt serious boe/kind of was. Some cunt in aucks on here could chop your shit easy there just useless. Id get some beers and hassle the fuck of of loceda hes also partial to man love if your that way inclined
-
^ if so your car should go low easy with not much troubles with captivity but cant give a answer without a quick look. Bring it down to hams with grinding disks someone will sort it
-
^ no idea what suspension they run whats the go? wish bones all round or what?
-
Don't want to put you off or sound like a cunt but weren't you saying an engine swap is out of your mechanical knowledge? Wouldn't be to keen on a port job if thats the case, Unless its just a learning experience and you don't mind fucking it
-
^ and the weight destroys what handling your poor shuv had, xe motors for bolt in goodness
-
all fixed boe brake line and mounts chur
-
got a family wedding or some stz. might have a look at the bitch today tho if the receda rolls down Also he means the bp on the left heading south, with the mc'dz and other gay shops
-
yea boe anyone whos keen for ecotec chevette antics should roll to mine and laugh/help brad get that beast rolling
-
I'll whip up a map hang on edit: ok so follow v8 pete and turn off at taupiri? and head through gordington, you'll pop out on tramway rd thats the red arrows at the top of the map follow them and you'll end up on sh1 south, the caltex is on the left. this way misses 1 million traffic lights and general hamilton gayness
-
best way to go is the way v8 pete is describing. through gordington past candyland. Miss most of the town BS and go right past my house
-
^ oh yea sweet, just it seems silly meeting up the north end of town then traveling back past our houses on the way ou,t plus thats the biggest car park in hamilton. Should just meet at the caltex going south.
-
should meet on the south end of hams, to lazy to travel up there
-
Thats pretty obvious oil down the bores is only for engines that Ive bought that have been sitting for ages, just trying to be nice to the rings but probably makes f-all difference
-
^ i'd be happy with just cranking it, With my old motors I just tip a little down the plug holes and crank it with out firing theres pretty much no load if it doesnt fire. Check the oil pressure at cranking if you got a few psi fire it up
