  1. So I've been collecting bits for the firenza....i'm obsessed I tell you. Got myself an 1800 hc viva with all the beefier running gear, cross members, brakes, diff etc which all bolts straight in. I'm driving to wellington next week with a trailer for an almighty roadtrip....I'm looking forward to it. I've also managed to find a 7 dial dash (a la firenza) and the magnum front end grill and four headlights. One of the coolest things I managed to grab for a steal was that blydenstein head off trademe, I now have all the spares to make myself a nice 2300 single cam. My master plan is falling into place
  2. thanks for the comments guys....believe it or not the Viva E model is meant to be one of the most rare models....for all the wrong reasons because it was a 1256 firenza with a viva hc front which was like a parts bin special. Hey Yoda, yes I think you're referring to Andre? in Nelson...I already know him through other vauxhall stuff.
  3. I've been searching for one of these badboys for years in NZ and finally got my hands on one. This is a 1975 Vauxhall Viva E coupe running all 1256 Viva HC running gear. Essentially a 2300 firenza without the running gear and other interior goodies. Plan is either race car or very mean road car at the moment. I'm not sure what I'm going to repower it with yet either, thinking 2300 single cam slant for (boat anchor engine) because it's what they ran OR going crazy with something newer....maybe lexus v8 ;P project discussion thread viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25999
  4. 94 levin rear calipers have integrated handbrake setup...I'm doing exactly that setup in my chevette. hilux lsd with levin rears and discs and handbrake. My fabrication guy has all the brakets to fit everything if you're interested? http://www.lynchbuilt.co.nz
  5. I'm sure we do. let me come back to you with a price, and make sure we have the brackets.
  6. The surrounds or the actual headlights? I've got heaps of recessed headlights.
  7. Have fixed bits and bobs for warrant purposes and fitted some spare 14s I had from another chevette. Look good but I'm thinking stretching some tyres and lower would be better
  8. Newly acquired sedan, runs really well and everything works! Not too much cancer to fix so it's gonna be a great lil runner. Big road trip to Fielding to pick it up but was a great trip.
  9. Yep as far as last checked a year ago.
  10. yeah that's what we're trying to find is a sender of some sort. We know some people in that trade so will let you know what I find out. It's also a matter of calibrating the bugger....watch this space.

I have been told the targa tyres are awesome. I run yokohama semi slicks but that's all I've ever run. They stick really well and will last you atleast 7 meetings if you treat them ok. If you're hanging ten out of every corner probably half.
  12. see above I've updated that there isn't an ecu, this is going into my 1978 chevette. simply need to understand what signal does this need to operate?
  13. Hey all, i've bought an electric autogauge speedometer which is designed to run straight from your ecu and I dont have an ECU and was wondering how I could get this going using conventional methods. I'm not sure what signal comes from these ecus either? is it 50khz? I don't really want to take it back and if I could buy a sender to work with it I would be wrapped but...if it doesn't work then it doesnt work.
