  1. Good news close ratio gear bag is coming along well. Is an early type flanged output gearbox so I needed to do something about the driveshaft. I had a spare 260c one which I pinched the diff flange off as it is exactly the same on the gearbox end. Did some measuring and turns out all I need to do is pop the universal apart and take the yoke of and fit the flange so that was far easier then expected. The big part of getting it fixed is that the selector forks are severely worn and that's why it is popping it out of gear. Dad has the technology to fix these though plus we're going to modify them and add an extra rubbing point so they will be better for the future. One thing I'm a bit stuck with is this gearbox is all steel in its syncro setup and it's obvious the oil that previous people have been running in it in the past hasn't been the best so does any one have suggestions here? All going to plan should have it in in a couple of weeks so I can use it up sainsbury road hill climb.
  2. Yeah hopefully this gearbox will make up for my lack of HP and ill get into the 1.25s. Then we can have some battles.
  3. Nah no dog leg Markku standard H pattern. I did a 1.26.2 was my fastest VG. Didn't get in to the 1.25s will have to save that for next time.
  4. Nah I've got a different box now Markku. BLM couldn't repair that box and the gear set is now in Wellington being looked at but it's sounding super expensive to fix. Dad found a factory option 240z 5 speed close ratio box. It probably came from the states but it has very worn selector forks. It's a rally box so has good ratios for both road and track. Dad knows far too many people and already has measured up the box and found out how to repair the forks better than factory. It will be a nice bolt in replacement and also has a shorter shift and is also better in the H pattern so will make finding gears easier also.
  5. Yeah I guess I missed most the shambles fixing some rim clearance issues. Last one I still think they had most of the assistance from the old organisers. So it ran better and ran just as VG said above. This time from what I could see they were left pretty much to do it them selves. As I didn't see many of the old faces about till the shambles needed to be sorted out. Biggest problem was they tried a new way to do dummy grid and every one got confused as anything and didn't know when to line up. At the end of the day when half the field had gone or retired and you just lined up and went racing everything flowed well again. So yeah hopefully they get it sorted for next event.
  6. Yeah this was mean. Improved heaps over last time. Max looking forward to next time. Want to get into the 1.25's
  7. Did some dorting yesterday. Slicks... Wow. After qualifying and have the pressures all wrong which resulted in me going 180 at turn one which was a first for me in the skyline and quite an experience haha. After a quick phone call to Rhyscar and got the pressures sorted these things are magic. I was up a whole gear through the infield over my semis and the car didn't feel unsteady, still think I can go quicker but I just need to catch up to the car. So last round did a 1.29.7 this round my fastest so far is 1.26.3 but I'm hoping they timed my last run as I'm pretty sure I would have broken into the 1.25's but they didn't post it yet. Next round I hope to get consistent 1.25s but I should have close ratio gearbox built next round also so 1.24s maybe? See how we go. Max chur to Rhys for slicks and Nick for rims, single biggest improvement so far! Picture, credit to YOWZER!!!
  8. where are you staying boss? keen to stay down there friday night
  9. Yeah I'm hoping for fine so I can see if current changes make me quicker. Plus slicks are going to be no good to me if it's wet.
  10. Got some new racing shoes They are 8s. They have a 200/850/15 slick on them which is pretty much perfect size for them to go on the back and not rub like the feroces. I don't know what the difference is between slicks and semi slick measurements is but I'm thinking I'll stretch a 205/50/15 nitto on them and hope they will be sweet. Does any one know if a 200 wide slick is measured the same as 205 semi slick?
  11. I found this also //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/23499-marks-c110s/page-14
  12. New brakes worked awesome can brake twice as late at the track now. Stay tuned time to put together a bit of a trick L series box as I have to find a bit more speed some where to beat Keegan
  13. little video. Keegan is the reddy car that starts beside me on my left and Markku does a little bowt of the start line.
  14. not got any of those. got few vids of me vs keegan dorts once i edit the rubbish out.
  15. yeah was sweet turn out. awesome event and bring on next round. going to have to sus accommodation friday night for next round. hamilton to taupo to hamilton in one day is quite tiring.
  16. Got struts out and decided a bit of paint would make them look a bit nicer so they aren't quite back in the car yet.. I've always had issues with the after market fan I got for this thing. It's never flowed enough air and I did not want to be sitting on the starting grid again looking at my temp gauge nervously so I went to pick a part and found this of a mitsi. The shroud is much better and flows much more air also. Still need to test it but... And I chucked my battery in the boot. Trying to shift some weight backwards to lighten the load on the front end. Also allowed me to chuck in a isolator switch which is good as I usually only drive this in the weekends I can now shut it off to stop the battery going flat.
  17. Turned out my factory callipers were just a bit to tight to make fit. Dad decided he wasnt going to use his willwoods any time soon and they were just to easy to fit. So got some hardware, made some adapter plates, spun up some spacers in the lathe and now were good to go, just need to put them on the car. Picture of todays efforts. Probably going to have more stopping power than horse power now.
  18. This wednesday 7pm burger fuel the base
  19. when i last spoke with Yowzer i was sure he said we were just going to stick with burger fuel due to lack of interest in changing locations? im all keen to stay with burger fuel.
  20. Got some new plans for this now. Looks like this as of today Got both my auto sport seats in it now, pity not the same colour yet but will rectify in the future. And this is why the front is up in the air. Standard 240k rotor on the right and new vented rotor on the left which I'm going to fit. This is in prep for when I build new motor. New rotor needs hub locator hole machined out but once thats done it will bolt to the back of the hub fine. Disc height is pretty much perfect also. Just need to space out calliper for wider disc and she will all bolt together nicely. Once brakes are on then it's stage 2 time.
  21. Tomstament is on to it, follow his advise first, bad earths will cause you many head aches. It sounds like it is doing a reset and a laptop will confirm this for you. If its resetting my money is on bad earths or bad power source. Get them sused first cause like any ECU it wont run properly if they arent.
  22. electronic levelling setups. does any one have any opinions or experiences with what systems work best or are good value? obviously these systems arent cheap so some advise here would be appreciated.
  23. I flew down last year which was sweet but keen for road trips this time. Pick me up in hamilton if you want a co-pilot.
  24. bumping this up. rolling thursdays now are we?
