  1. my bad shit brain bad hosting, so empty engine bay removed battery box then started measuring at this stage was a looks like its gona work job!, , sitting where its meant to 50mm up from the x member sump is 15mm in front of it, blocked it in position here as mounts will sag 10mm or so when she winds up, throttle body is 10mm off the firewall and steering works lock to lock without hitting, exhausts will go out through the guards then along the chassis rails two inch each side, and heres where the trans is at crossmember that i made to fit the 2l can be adapted, back to work today so mounts next week and track down a yoke etc would have to be the easiest non bolt in conversion ever see how it goes and then you guys judge
  2. , cut the battery box out today and cleared the wiring loom went well, so i cut the tunnel out and had a dummy fit. cast exhausts won't work over the chassis and out the wheel wells is the go so made a little headway not bad for a $20 grinder and me after a nightshift, tommorow i'll drop off the logs and block it up to mock up the mounts gearbox mount will be pretty close to bolting up and get the flanges cut for the extractors
  3. guy that does goldrush runs a rover v8 with austin princess front wheel drive box i believe, few minis over in europe running that sorta set up, but all kinds of engineering in that, or a cf bedford slant 4 2.3l is basically half a chevy block so can run chev pistons rods etc, with heaps of aftermarket pistons etc, or charade 3 cyclinder turbo motors are good power and blueprinted from factory and small dohcers
  4. new rims sacrificed bands from the ute but meh gona look bad
  5. yeah tis true bout the range of wheels for hilux but i like 6 stud and the the steelies i have for it, wanna go stealth rat rod look not shiny pervert look considering its gona be laying skids pretty frequently, they have a n uneven wishbone setup shorter at the top, spoke to a mate last night and hes going to build me my own gantry, two A frames that look like swing sets on 100mm wheels with two 6m channel tracks for them to run in then a endless chain on each, should be sweet then will bolt a frame under the cab so i can flip it like a big dodgy rotisserie,
  6. haha rx5 rotors man?? i got cock in pants i got a monsta cock in pants (see how much more "gangsta" that is)
  7. oh and wind it over with the cap and rotor off, my vivin stoudin had a bent dissy shaft lol musta fell off a bench
  8. play in the dizzy bushes used to affect mine used to eat points till i rebushed it, try the easy stuff first if it stops rattling sorry its dead
  9. post a pic bro helps with nutting things out put car on stands etc so you can see whats going on whats the set up macpherson strut wish bone etc
  10. getting ready to drop the commie donk in the ute, what you guys reckon whip the cab off and mount it then drop it back on top, block it up 6 inches and mount it then drop it back on or cut the trans tunnel out and mount it? what has 6 stud 2wd vented disks ? l200 etc that have drop spindles availible? that would bolt up to b1600 A arms? can you use a clutch master as a brake master to run independant front and rear brakes when running an auto ie plumb it and bridge the pedal for the cert?
  11. ok heres some engine pics of the lil v8, edelbrock manifold cheers sta 390 4 bbl holley paintstripped rocker covers cheese big arse air cleaner sump chopped to fit behind crossmember two extra sockets welded in for pickups down passenger side water pump removed whilst waiting for shorter p6b version ,
  12. , this motor, , in this hole
  13. bought the 3.8 v6 today may need to borrow a lifter to remove, and looking for a few parts wiring loom fuel tank shit vacuum sender etc
  14. new plan both 2ls for sale and gearboxes, cab off chassis birthday possibly galv dip, 3.8 commodore v6 and auto gearbox, steel chevy rallye 16s with dressrings 1" flappers and spun centre caps, cab tidy up and respray jetboat 3 man bench seat column shift, stainless flatdeck in the build with truck taillights, stainless round tool box on drivers side same style baffled fuel tank on the other, possibly widen the rims for the back to 9 and leave the 7s on the front, bigger brakes and a heater
  15. well i'm not even going to fire it until i have the drysump sorted as it has been said the little rovers suffer from low oil pressure but don't mind waiting as there other jobs tobe done sorting out the speedo and getting a one inch master in to run volvo calipers on the piazza discs, also going to send the heads away for a tickle and a plane, order a new camshaft and bring new timing gear back from the states, ie buick 215 roller rockers etc, gearbox is going to be reconditioned also and looking into an lsd to go into my housing early ford is the word as they are a close fit being a borg, contemplated locker but would void insurance if something happens
  16. ok heres the blurb, shift work has shit on me doing much of the work myself, a lot of what was done i wouldn't have attempted anyway, *cut 40 out of the centre of the sump and moved oil pickup back added 1/2 bsp fittings to plumb oil cooler back *custom engine and gearbox mounts *moved hole back 150mm for gearshift *new clutch etc *gear reduction starter engine sits as far back as possible without wailing on the firewall, and sump plug sits just above the crossmember so 13s may be an option . gearshift is bang on being back a bit feels less like a ute to drive now and more like a chevette, radiator will still be a tight fit but changing to a shorter snout water pump and only a 2 inch round tooth gilmer drive using a triumph tripple core, ive had on my dohc, extractors are gona be a bitch but will hopefully clear down drivers side otherwise will be looping under the front of the sump and down the passengers side with the left bank, am goin to run twin 2 an a half with balance tube to single 3 with pro flow then 2 an a half over diff into side by side 4" dumpies with 3" straight dropped tips all stainless from the extractors back future plans, 3 stage dry sump pump either a moroso or barnes, ebay and an uncle shipping chevs back helps immensely have 15x7 performance alloys like globes without the black outs go gold centres polished lip, also alloy sump in planning to stiffen the block

    removing axles

wheres it broken at the flange wheel end or spline diff end, spline end jack the car up put a spare wheel and tire back on and hit the inside of the tire with a full swing with appropriate piece of 4x2, inertia from tire moving normally pop them out, heat is your friend so a gas axe can help as the bearings in the housings can be tight, if its the flange gone you'll have to weld a step to lever it out from the diff in the centre good luck
  19. want to borrow a car trailer to put the wags on for this weekend ne one got one in hams, not going far jus to an engineer mate of mine
  20. 4x98 i think they are slightly narrower than the shuvit pattern file an wobble nuts would work wasn't willing to file 17s just for a look, but nomas hq stubs an brakes are the way to go then off to aussie spares for widened steels off a stock car, widened pursuits would be grunge
  21. haha skated past this this morn with the dog can geta commie v6 an box for 3 hundy torana diff hq brakes an thats a fat sleeper, otherwise theres a burnout comp in dargaville with 6 g first prize, guy up north runs a 308 in his pretty epic
