My only issue with having everything off the battery fused means that in an, albeit rare, occasion where you might just need to move the car in an emergency using the starter alone it could then trip that circuit breaker. Thinking situations like when you get stuck in a ford/on railway line etc ( yeah I know, rare as) But I guess you can't do that trick with an auto equipped car anyway?

K11s still make the most financial sense, what with the increasing interest and obvious investment potential, on top of economy figures that could go into the high 4s per 100km on long runs like that (1.3 manual)

I await for the next episode of "I thought I had stopped my British car from leaking oil for good but I was dreaming"....

13s ain't big enough for the race car spec brakes we are planning. 14s will work though and theres certainly a few more to pick from then. -

Sadly those wheels I found were just not meant to be. When I went back to get a tyre fitted I double checked the other rims on the balancing machine and discovered that two were bent- one really badly to a point I'd not want to attempt to rescue. So that sucks. Back to the search then. In other news @Sanfiddy came round and helped us take Mollys skeleton to the grave. Once there at the dump Hannah and I stripped off the doors which will be heading to @Willdat? and the hatch as a spare for when the a ford ranger (insert other penis enlarging device) backs to into our tiny car at the supermarket because he cant see beyond the girth of his massive machine. We also grabbed the front struts, rear springs and steering rack. The front springs from this G#/autostrada model I have discovered have a higher rate. The steering rack might possibly be geared higher - it showed 100mm less travel at the rim lock to lock. Even if it isn't actually quicker, and I can't yet find any definitive proof on internets that there is a quicker rack on some but for rumours that the UK super S / JDM G# might be so equipped. Anyway- its still good to keep a spare. We were both a little sad to see Molly sitting there, soon to be turned into a Nissan Cube. She was actually a solid as little car, a rare model at that, with which only half a day of work would have made roadworthy. But can't turn back time and the goal was always a 2 door yellow PFL which is now even better equipped than we first dreamed. Mollys heart and other organs live on in Minky and Milly anyway- 213 replies

And the drivers of little cars/k11s should pay nothing. Because we bring a smile to your dial and what harm could we possibly do to the roads.

It makes so much sense nowadays, especially when living close to NZs premiere hillclimb race track. Cheap to run, nippy, practical and fun.

Thread dredge. This thread is even more relevant with todays soaring fuel prices. But rather than fill the climate change thread with econobox chat I thought I'd float @Roman thread back up to the surface. I have a question.... I have been waking up in cold sweats ever since selling Milly the micra to @Willdat? because I fear that he has got the more economical car from our horde The reason I think our Minky might be a tad thirstier is because of the LSD (no - not the drugs) I'm wondering if the fact the outside wheel has to travel further on every bend but its creating friction within the LSD unit - energy lost into that lovely viscous gloop? Or is it just because I'm having too much fun driving it with passion. Also- Milly had 155 tyres when we sold her. Minky is shod with 175 (possibly soon to be 195...) - interested to see how much difference width can make?

lol. Taking a note of that and I shall use it in conversation more often.

Popped to the wreckers today to look through their alternators for the flat six project and found some round treasures.. 15 x 7 ET37 Italian made Momos. Trial fitting. I think they'll work With 195/50 they are 3mm bigger than the 175/70s that roll nicely and the speedo is spot on with.- 213 replies

Still chipping away at various jobs about the property. Going to post up some before and after shots soon because its looking neat as compared to 8 years ago. This spring and summer have been perfect for plant growth on the block and the bush is really coming away well. We've just started the process of a new shed build. Tore down the old tin shed which we'd built and parked next to the housetruck when at the campground in Nelson, which then got carted out in two halves to the bushblock all those 7/8 years ago. New shed will be about 5.5m by 5m and be mainly to house the Imp and most of our pushbikes plus anything else currently in the workshop that's not for engineering/work related. It'll be nice to have a safe warm place for the Imp and not have to ever leave it outside in the harsh sun or the wet (because when it rains here its usually pretty good decent rain - and because the Imp is British that rain eventually seems to find its way in somehow) We want to style this shed like an old country workshop. Iron sides and roof, timber front, big timber doors. We've got quite a bit of materials already so its not going to be a big spend job. Just priced up concrete which delivered out to here from Motueka will cost about $240 for 1.5m3 of the stronger 25mpa stuff - still seems pretty cheap? I'll get some more pics soon but this was last week just as we started tearing it down. Found so many bloody paper wasps which luckily never seem to be as aggressive as normal wasps - of which there's very few about!- 575 replies

yep and they are pretty cheap to get set up with. Plus much betterer for those pesky hard to get to corners where you need to have the tungsten set out quite far.

yeah and this. One of the ones with the little ball. Plus check the regulator diaphragm is backed off enough so it works but without releasing a massive splurge of air each time the welder opens its gas valve. Hard to explain what I mean but mine was set really high so the flow meter had too much pressure against it. If that makes sense.
