cheers man i just had another look at the mini thread and ive got a couple more q's for ya lol um so i understand you used 3 base coats 3 top coats a two clear? what im wanting to know is can you say once you have done your 3 base coats leave it overnight and then do top coats or does it still have to be tacky and does the same apply with the clear?also did you wet and dry between any of that?also i think you mentioned somewhere that you used 2k clear over the 1k whats the advantage of this?........... hope that made sense lol

just a couple of questions im going for some ppg 1k laquer when buying it what do i ask for like are base coats and top coats two different types of paint or is the top coat clear???

cheers guys...... my problem is the shaft moving freely in the housing-shown in third picture like you can literally shake it with your hand and obviously this shouldnt be happening because if i hit a bump in it the whole left strut moves a bit im just wondering if there is a part in there missing/or something that commonly fucks out in them etc and as i said earlyer heaps of plastic shraps came out of there and some of the little bits look like they may even of had a thread on them

well this should definetly win noobest post of the year but just remember that im young and still learning shit(first hand) and excuse the shit drawings which one of the two below is right which ever one of these is correct.....the picture below shows whats happening the bit that i have circled red is moving around freely in the housing that i have circled in blue when i undid the clamps on the rubber boot type thing and had a feel inside it a whole lot of plastic like shraps came out so is anyone able to tell me exactly what the fucks wrong here any help would be greatly appreciated cheers

well it appears that some complete dickfuck has cut these crossmembery things out other than being pissed that the original seat mounting holes arnt there...surely that must be bad for the structural integrity of the car? im pretty much stumped as to where to go from here.I really dont want to go down the certification path as that=money and money is something i do not have

after pulling the carpet up and having a look it appears that someone has got in there with a grinder.......i can find the two back original threaded holes but no fronts so if anyone happens to have a pic of what it should look like under there could you please post it up....i hope i dont have to go down the cert track after all

yuh i reckon i think i will go with the way josh has explained as it looks simple/practical and shouldnt take to long to do

thats a dam good idea are the steel(blue) bits just bolted to the aftermarket seats?

oh ok im asking as i need to get the mk2 escort warrented and the last thing that needs to be done is for the seats to be bolted in so im lookin for the quickest way to do it i may have to have a chat to the guy at the wof shop here see what he recommends

what are the laws about seat brackets can you bolt straight to the floor? do you have to use original mounts/holes? can you make brackets which bolt to the floor and the seats?

right time to update this we recently got the car back home after it had been out at a mates getting heaps of welding done-new engine mounts,spring mounts and the rust in the chassis is now gone also it has new springs all around.dad also bought a mr gasket street scoop too.since its been back home weve gotten stuck into the bodywork and its startin to look a bit straighter next on the list is to chop the rear flares out fabricate some new ones and have them welded in
