  4. Wheels on and lowered a bit, front should come down a bit with the HEAVYWEIGHT Pinto in there New shocks front and back, just KYB's
  5. Maybe a stuck valve? Or really taking abit to work the oil into itself? Reading much higher pressure than the other new pump?
  6. Makes you wish burtons wasnt half the world away doesnt it! Certainly sounds like the pump is at fault, pin etc holding gear to shaft all in place? Dont rip it apart otherwise they might not replace.
  7. Stick with the new one, or would you rather a wrecked engine? Not worth mucking around with the old one imo
  8. Dont worry about rear seat belts for the mk1, cars older than 1979 dont need to have them, took a passenger in the back of the cortina the other day and relised it didnt have any rear belts!

  10. Low speed circuit on carb may be blocked or mixture set very lean, or timing out
  11. Sounds like the dizzy with heaps of wires is a electronic dizzy and unless you had the control box it wont work, the other one with a single black wire has points, connect the black wire to the negative terminal of the coil
  12. Look at the gear, if they are straight cut they are pre engaged starter gear, or if they have a lead in edge its inertia type

  14. What about your ring gear type? It could be the wrong ring gear for your starter. Pre engaged and inertia starters have a diffrent ring gear.

  18. Carb would be too small, and it has progressive secondaries, what youd want is a DFAV 38 or 40, both barrels of the carb open together
  19. Slight change of plans, still bright yellow, black bumpers, lowerage with 13x7 hotwires, fishnets, Rebuild tweaked 2lt and 5 speed. Currently getting paneled and painted, pics soon!
  20. Picked it up, and it goes sweet! no issues Found out the autos been rebuilt last year! cant be arsed manual conversion when the auto works like a charm!
  21. Autos are ghey, how straight forward is the conversion in these? Wack 4 or 5 speed in ( same dimension etc anyway right?) Manual starter, pedal box, clutch cable Drive shaft and gearbox mount still good? Chur
