  1. Wicked man, that is what I also wanted to with my GX but so far I have not had the money or the skills. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
  2. Yeah, really didn't want to sell my one, but cool thing is an 'older' dude bought it, he had one brand new as a business car at one of his jobs and wanted another one ever since. He was planning to make it even minter than it already was. Was very happy to see it go to a good home. the auction closed on Friday night and he flew down Saturday morning to pick it up and drive back to Auckland. Good guy. Picture for nostalgic purposes:
  3. I posted in the other thread because I thought it would get moved due to 1992ness (despite 80's box resemblance)! But then I saw this discussion thread so deleted and post here instead. I really like the R31 wagons (just about all skylines actually), which makes me laugh because I used to absolutely despise them. And those rims look approximately 1 kazillion times better painted. Looking forward to seeing it sacked out 'in the weeds.'
  4. Will be keen when i am back in Palmy. Fuck knows when that will be though.
  5. ^^^^sounds like a good idea... Are ther any associated noises or anything else at all?
  6. lookin good man, glad to see it on the way back to the road. Can't wait to see it all finished!
  7. Lowlancer; I haven't worked out what it cost me totally for freight etc, but the only way that I could do it is I have in laws in japan to recieve the goods and send them on as well... Even with their help it was a mission and I won't do it again until I go back myself! If I am over there in the near future I could help you out with that kind of thing... I will let you know on this forum if it happens. al_feinted; its an auto, I would love a manual centre console, just let me know what you want for it inc getting it to palmy. thanks for the props too dude. I am looking forward to doing some more mods to it in the future.
  8. yep, as long as the tread is under the guard then it is warrantable. Got standard wheels if thats a problem anyway.
  9. Thanks for the replies and feedback it's really appreciated, sorry if I stole your idea lowlancer! (i had no idea if it makes you feel better) Replies to your questions rxtoy; 1. I bought the wheels from Japan, I haven't really worked out how much it cost inc freight and everything, but I paid about $1200 for the wheels and then sent them over. They were meant to be second hand, but turned out to be in brand new condition. 2. Main St tyres in Palmerston North fitted the tyres, didn't really need any special equipment, just paitence, a rubber donut and several attempts (especially for rear rims). Main st tyres is the best tyre shop in Palmy, and sponsor of team drifters. 3. Yes plenty. Tried to roll the guards ourselves and it was fairly succesful with some of mates' experience in Panelbeating and drift cars. It still rubbed with any weight in the back and under heavy acceleration so I got the guards rolled just recently with a roller that bolts onto the hub... this worked really well, I haven't put the SSR rims back on since then, so I will let you know if it was succesful! fingers crossed! 4. No problems with the police so far, I haven't been driving around that much as it was just recently completed. Haven't had a WOF check since, the only problem I can forsee is the rear springs are borderline between captive and not so I may need to get the rear shocks shortened if the WOF place is tight. Yeah 1jz would be very cool, I was also thinking about a supercharged lexus V8.... might be a tight fit. Thanks for the feedback guys.
  10. 195/60/15 all round, lots of stretch on the back! I have got some 205's to go on the back, as long as they don't rub.
  11. Thanks dude, At standard height with hubcaps on, the mirrors and chrome looked a bit out of place, but I am loving them now. (not that I would have ever changed them!)
  12. 1982 Toyota Mark II I bought this car in December, it has only had 1 owner since it was imported into Nz and only has 97,000 kms on the clock. I recently lowered with KYB SR special gas shocks and custom springs. I also fitted SSR Mesh rims, Front 15x8 Rear 15x9, with tyres stretched on. Future plan is an engine swap, but I haven't decided which engine yet, there are several options.
