  1. I would imagine a surge tank would be heavily expensive, and also where do you mount it? Could be difficult?
  2. I am not gonna bother having a surge tank, it looks real tricky to install, I'll see how I go without it, I'll just cut or modify the lines and use a cordia fuel pump.
  3. Nah TC06's are good, why don't I change the turbo? $$$$ I don't want to spend it, I already had a TC06 lying around.
  4. Try connecting the terminals on the back of the startor motor with a screwdriver and see if it starts like that, if it does, the soldnoid is bung, if it doesnt u have a flattie or the starter motor is bung.
  5. Where can I get a wide block gearbox from to suit a 4G63? What cars have those and what engines?!
  6. Where on earth do I get the roller rockers? Can I get some for a 4G63 sohc, how much are they?
  7. What on earth can you get a wideblock fucking gearbox from!!!!!!! I built up my engine using a station dash block with an 8 valve sigma head so I can have the multipoint injection off a FWD galant with a modified manifold using a TC06 manifold and turbo off a cordia, but now the bloody sigma carby 8 valve 5 speed gearbox doesn't fit! Shit! my engine is wideblock, but the sigma is narrowblock! Where do I get a wideblock gearbox?! Is a 4G52 wideblock! This gives me the shits, I need a wideblock gearbox! Anyone know where to get one in christchurch cheap?

    Ex Springs?

Change the front subframe to sigma, put in the cut sigma springs front and rear, paint them red, use cordia/tredia shocks, just have to shorten the tube at the top slightly, easy with an angle grinder, and paint the springs red, with shortened shocks at the front, they coppas will never know. Also the cut sigma springs are nice and stiff so it handles mint.
  9. I'm going to stay live rear axel, it looks like the sigma diff head may fit into the lancer housing, I'll have to try that out. Built up my starion dash bottom end with sigma head and cordia exhaust manifold and TC06 etc with custom multipoint injection, now the bloody engine is a wide bellhousing one! So now my gearbox won't bloody fit! Pain in the arse I'll tell you that!
  10. Hmm thats true, but it would still be worth it if it's got an LSD... I might even sift up one day, I'll see how it goes.
  11. Yes it will bolt straight on.
  12. 4G32 turbo and 4G37 have electronic igntion.
  13. I hear you have a parts car? Do you have any disc brake rear ends or anything silly like that?
  14. My friend didn't have any problems getting them. A hint- for the rings use CA18(DET) rings
  15. You can get the foam for the airfilters for about $2 from para rubber, it's motorcycle aircleaner foam shit.
  16. Phat it out, they're just a normal old car, nothing real amazing! I have a lancer but it is a 1980 model.
  17. It's sometimes good when doing the conversion to put in the double valve springs as the boost can blow the valves open in these old pushrod engines so your rev ceiling will be really low.
  18. Where did you discover your turbo SU from?
  19. Nah don't want a turbo sigma, big, ugly, heavy and an ungainly car. Plus it's de-rego and has a bent axel. I like the lancer as it is small and light, handles brilliantly. It's pretty different down here, noone really does them up and if they are they're usually pretty shitty. Lowered on stock wheels etc.
  20. Well if a sigma is avaliable in IRS and live rear end they may well have similar suspension mounting points, it may well be worth a look. I'm getting a GSR sigma, I'll have to have a look.
  21. Would I easily be able to convert the lancer to IRS?
  22. I reckon that if you want to turbo it you'll want to use a different engine as I think your one now will have too high compression being a worked NA engine. Go for a virgin A15 or even an A20 out of a van.
  23. I'll have a look on the weekend for you. It's at my parents place and I'm not going back there until the weekend probably.
  24. While they look the same it's actually slightly different. The sigma arms are much too long as well. I can see the only solution as being shortening the lower arm, and shorten the top arm and put the lancer end bit on where it bolts onto the body as the sigma one is bigger. Or you could weld the larger sigma bit on the lancer arm although it's about the same amount of work. I'm getting a GSR sigma soon, it's got a disc brake rear end and legend says an LSD, but it's got a bent axel, will I be able to use the non turbo axel on it?
  25. Nah I don't think they did, I think it was just the 2.6L which was wideblock.
