  1. eh, just spray em with silicon spray. I love that stuff.
  2. Ive just done a good amount of googling on the issue, are your friends running 2 remote boosters? apparently the hillman ones only boost one line. (pair of brakes) This is all about to get really technical
  3. yeah Id looked into the complete pedalbox job, but i cant justify the cost and since im an engineer and my ass squeaks when i walk, making one is by far the better option, I've already converted my clutch pedal to a push type under dash hydraulic anyway. Now, these hillman hunter ones, would they provide enough grunt to push big 4 pot front, 2 pot rear disks? I'm definately interested in one and i think i have room behind the firewall above the acclerator pedal to mount one after having a look today. Does anyone know anything about this?http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Ford/Engines-drive-trains/auction-65813566.htm
  4. eh, the japs dont think that logically, in my poobird they lock at 10km/h but you've gotta push a button to unlock them
  5. Id buy the brakes off u if you didnt need them
  6. yeah, under the dash doesnt really look promising unless i cut a chunk of firewall out. Im using the last linkplus G1 ever made haha.
  7. that cant be right, because most older jappa imports have auto locking doors, but i guess they wouldnt let that kinda stuff become legal anymore.
  8. Good stuff Dave, someone sticky that shit.
  9. That does make sense, it could work, maybe using a clutch master and slave to push a (skyline) boosted master up in the guard, be a bitch to bleed though. I had a wee check before to see if theres enough room in my innerguard to run a booster and cylinder, made me slightly nervous because my car is going to be slammed as low as its possible, the wheel could be in the way. if i found room though i could make an eleborate series of linkages to push the master inside the guard... now im just thinking out loud.
  10. I like that van idea, but wouldnt it be a cunt to set up all the steering column with vans being so upright? i've already had to install a van clutch master under the dash.
  11. I need some help regarding brake boosters, As you can see there aint much room for a booster in there, bloody rocker cover is in the way, i was thinking about a remote booster but i know nothing about them, or running no booster and a big master. Im not too keen on running no booster because it is a street car and it would just be a hassle. So if anyone has any ideas or information to feed me about remote brake boosters and how they work it would be much appreciated.
  12. you'll want a diff head out of a mid to late eighties falcon ute, they are all lsd, and so long as the utes a manual its usually between 3.2:1 - 3.5:1 sorta ratio, should be good for ur cruiser, and if u can get hold of an xf fairmont diff, it will be lsd, but a shit ratio But it should have disk brakes. I did get offered one for $150 complete disk to disk.
  13. anyone who makes coolstores and yeah, insulation etc are the best bet for polystyrene. PVA glue is mint for joining it too, superglue just dissolves it.
  14. Just make a mould out of polystryene/wood (whatever) then seal it up with paint, put some release agent on it, and lay on the fibreglass, It takes alot of fkin around, but once u get the mould you could make 3 or 4 of them and sell em on. You could find a front skirt off a japa car down by the river on a saturday morning, take it home and start off by moulding that, just to get into the ball park, and tweak the design for width etc.
  15. pasint it brown dude ever seen a pimp ass done up car painted brown? i know i havent. shit,

    Toyota Crown

should be under the dash near the fuse box, near the steering wheel pole type thing. its alloy.
  17. Yo man, sorry about the shit welcome to the forums, just have a browse round, search the place out. Theres some pretty half decent escorts on here, and I'm sure that any of their deranged owners will help ya out.
  18. hate to be negative, but it seems as though this topic comes up every 10 seconds on this forum eh, lowering blocks vs reset leaves, prices, escort guard rubbage. Grab a phone book eh?
  19. ah, i didnt realise zep had added a link to that page already, different url, but i'll bet its the same. Its the thought that counts...
  20. how bored are ya escorta? http://rockcrawler-mrt.com/boltpatternref.html I've had a quick look through the list, some are a bit questionable (4 stud zephyrs, and 5 stud datto 1600's ) but yeh. mint.
  21. haha foreman at work has some 13x7 superlights, reckons they'll fit in his mk1 2 door with no external body mods, so long as he runs an anglia diffhousing. HAH. fuckin hell. anyway get some new springs spacie, dont use blocks, and your car will handle way better, and might not be so scrapy
  22. fully overspray brown paint all over it. Is it the latest streetmachine or nzv8 mag that has the willies coupe with fake rust in it..?
  23. best idea here is to chuck a whole mk 2 front end in like methods did. but at the end of the day, thats effort thats probably not worth it, have you thought about just running better pads? spacing rotors to keep them cocentric sounds like an idea that could end badly, it'd be best to balance the hubs if they dont locate properly, to get rid of any brake shudder, steering wobble or anything like that that could come up.
  24. are mk 1 & 2 escort hubs the same?
  25. make sure u mount it at the highest point of your fuel system, otherwise everytime u change ur filter petrol will piss out everywhere... but i guess that goes without saying. what size surge tank are you running?
