  1. yea mate, was gutted, but that's a distant memory now after sitting in these lush new ones!
  2. I fucked up, when carrying out some epoxy primer work in the shed, my seats were up on a shelf uncovered, and the overspray settled into the grain, unable to be cleaned out - thankfully insurance came to the party and I've now got some fresh trim for the coupe, from Waikumete auto upholstery.
  3. As always -I love your builds - but its really about time you Turbo'd something mate
  4. In the last few months It's been a roller coaster of a mission trying to get ahead with the car. Gearbox issue was an inspection cover bolt 5mm too long blocking the selector, easy fix luckily. Had many issues trying to get it to run right, no point going into details but finally got it sorted, it's pulsing its head off now. Still some fine tuning to do, but it really needs a dyno and I need to put money elsewhere atm. Bought a bonnet thats at choppers getting repaired, won't be painted till end of Jan. Also the seats will be getting retrimmed early next year. Fully installed the interior, cars pretty much complete apart from the above, but the biggest thing that's happened is its now fully complied Wof'd and Reg'd- couldn't be happier First reg in 25 years!
  5. It goes!!!!!!, had a mate drop in to help fire it up on the weekend, (I dont know how to put vids up here without making a YouTube vid), I've even even driven it around the block a few times, so stoked!! Got a few issues to sort, brakes still not good enough need to lock the dizzys, and the carb isn't performing quite right and strangely I have no third gear, will have to figure that one out. But overall, very happy, it pulls really well on the road, goes better than I expected tbh
  6. Fitted new ignitors, fairly straightforward job, just got to get sparky to come tidy up the wiring again. And 'Finally' sussed the brakes out, found I needed to adjust the little push rod between the booster and the master, pedal feels great now, so it's now on its wheels, almost ready for start up!
  7. honestly, dont be so hasty, the rotor plan is a good one, you have gone so far with it, be a shame to change now. Every project has set backs, I know as have my fair share over the 10 years I've been trying to build my own car, put a cover over it for a week, and come back to it with a fresh mind its a cool project, be great to see it completed and brapping about. - + way more street cred than a 4age
  8. Heard from the electronics specialist - can't fix my dizzys, ffs. So I've ordered some Accuspark kits, nothing off the shelf for these motors, but i think I can adapt- well I hope so, or that's more $ and time wasted.
  9. Keeping with the 2 steps forwards, one back theme- have fitted the grille and new badges including a NOS AA badge , have horn working properly now, brakes way better but pedal a touch soft., and then...... my new handbrake cable snapped- God damn this car is fighting me the whole way.
  10. 'Just Brakes' Penrose are good for the booster rebuilds
  11. Bought a repro factory sticker kit, there's more here than shown, only a small item, but makes a big difference I think.
  12. Car fully rewired now, Garth at Lane Customs did a killer job, everything tested and works, including exterior and interior lights, engine accessories, fans fuel pump etc, bur as usual with this build, can't go forwards without going back, have discovered, the supposedly mint electronic twin dizzys, have faulty optical sensors, so they are away, hopefully can be repaired, as they are an unusual set-up. I also still have to get the brakes sorted, not leaking now, just have a soft pedal, will keep working at it. Once those 2 items sorted, I should finally be able to prep for start up. Have borrowed a NOS bonnet for compliance, I still don't have one- only major thing to buy.
  13. Boot area finished, all trims cleaned up, jack restored including new stickers new tail light covers, underlay/carpets etc
  14. He builds good motors, you wont be disappointed
  15. did you end up getting Brad to do the motor?
  16. thats not even a question - its a requirement
  17. Screens in new front, had to reuse the rear, it has a few scratches being 50 years old, but i have no choice. Clutch all bled up, pedal feels good, not too heavy. And typically i cant go forward without going back on this car, Filled the radiator, and the waterpump leaked, was supposed to be mint, can't buy new, so have to send away for reco. Fuel tank in, just got to complete the lines.
  18. Sure am, getting really close, can't wait to hear that brap almost surreal feeling after battling for so long
  19. Thanks mate call in anytime if you're ever up this way. Motor not started, have a few small jobs to tick off, I pulled intake off again to access the brake lines, so once I get those sorted, and install the fuel system then itll mostly be ready to go. In reality, if I took a week off work, and had the $ handy it would pretty much be done - im out of $ atm so no point taking that week off haha
  20. Hesps going on, no real pics, but car is 90% wired, just gotta do tail light loom, windows being fitted with new front screen, all the badges, chrome and rubbers are on. Hood lining in Underbody nearly done, just gotta fit fuel tank. brake lines are doing my head in, keeps leaking in the fittings, when I've tried to bleed, will keep trying
  21. looking good man - those BBS are cool, pretty sure a slightly higher profile wont be an issue once they are fitted up especially as they are only 15s
  22. Waaaay better in the wheels department - cant stand those American racing style wheels - literally 90% of mustangs either have those or Cragars, very little imagination in that scene
  23. Cheers all, very happy with how it's shaping up, definitely way more satisfying at this stage
  24. Engine bay well underway A few badges lights windows, chrome etc fitted too
