  1. Ha, they're pretty much just as hard to find. I assume you've talked to Sparkle about where he got his one? Cheers Matt
  2. Hard to tell from your pics but you realise there's long and short wheel base versions right? The tub pics are of a SWB version but LWB's are way more common in NZ and Straya, and probably what you've got. I don't love the green version but they're terrible pics of a way to high 620, lowering would definitely help a lot and it's heaps better than a flat deck. Cheers Matt
  3. I pretty much thought that thing would end up getting scrapped, excellent job on saving it. Looks so simple from your pics, definite signs of a great job. Cheers Matt
  4. Love this build, probably my current favourite on the site. Surfing facebook and found this video, might provide a bit of motivation https://www.facebook.com/rotarymotorsports/videos/877024002346752/ Cheers Matt
  5. MKD, I'm in Perth. Motors are pretty easy to find though, so many copies of the honda setup around. I'm actually going to leave the rear fender on until I've worked out if I can get the rear wheel sitting where I want without cutting it off. Are there steel front fenders available? I like the way the front fender matches the back but id rather have steel, my plastic one is proper fucked and I'm thinking powder coating so steel will be easier to get the right colour. Cheers Matt
  6. Already onto both of those, QCR is where a lot of my original need for something 2 wheeled came from and I love the hell out of the Jonnys Speed Shop turbo cub build. Forks is good to know, that'll make things a bit easier. It's looking like the logical next step is to buy a postie bike and start swapping stuff over. Will see how the bank balance looks this week and resist buying new seat and motor for a bit longer. Cheers Matt
  7. So plans are still being worked out, I don't actually know anything about motorbikes so there's a learning curve involved. Basically I've just been surfing the net to find details I like then trying to find where to get parts from to do it. Rough plan so far is: Hard tail the rear like this one: Suicide shifter like this one: Exhaust and handlebars like this one: Seat: Forks: I need to find out more about what forks will fit, the top bit is easy to source but shocks and external springs I still haven't come across anything. I'm guessing they're swapped from something else but need to investigate more. Motor will probably be a new Lifan 125, they're cheap and come in black. Might buy a CT110 for wheels/brakes/12V etc but it's still something that can wait until I know exactly what I need. Cheers Matt
  8. Check out the chain in this pic, it's obvious been sitting for ages Currently completely stripped except the forks, but my phone was full so turns out I wasn't actually taking photos. This is the closest pic I've got. Cheers Matt
  9. So my friend Aaron is a bit of a honda nut (life, scamp, little 2 cylinder truck, S2000, monkey, dax, C90, S600 are all currently in various states of resto) and he's been trying to talk me into sharing his craziness for a while. He was going to check out a dax and C70 the other night and the missus was driving me nuts and I wanted to get out of the house so I went along and ended up owning the C70 for the princely sum of $200. Basically everything was seized, engine won't turn over, both brakes stuck on etc but I've always liked the super Cubs and I wasn't super interested in the stock running gear anyway. So far I've just been stripping everything off and working out a plan for what I want to do with it. Pics More pics and info to come when, photobucket catches up Cheers Matt
  10. MaxFab has been around for ages, he did a bunch of the work on my stout. Dude has got mad skills with the hot metal glue guns.
  11. Only...... that's a good little collection. Going to hunt out a long nose TA22 so you've got the perfect quartet?
  12. How many Celicas currently Mike? I found all the pics from the manukau meets recently, makes me want another one, but I have to settle for rides in the gf's. Cheers Matt
  13. Standard ones are just plain boring vinyl, no detailing at all. I've got some orange Naugahyde that came as part of a deal that might make its way in there. Just not sure how much orange I can handle. Cheers Matt
  14. Wow, I'm shit at updating this. Got an exhaust sorted, not happy with it but it was a prick of a job because of the limited space to go around the chassis. Gets a bit of a vibration against the chassis once it warms up. Also rolled the rear guards and got the 15x7 0 offset rims that I planned for this originally on. I'm not sure if I like these or the green ones better, bit more ground clearance with these though which is a bonus with our steep driveway. Been doing some basic maintenance as well to have her ready for a show tomorrow but nothing to exciting. Pics: And with the gf's 28 Cheers Matt
  15. Couldn't find the pics of my mates one but found these of one I saw for sale on the side of the road in Auckland somewhere, rough guess of 8 or 9 years ago. Cheers Matt
  16. Fuck yeah!!! These things are stupidly rare in NZ. There's some story about how there was only 6 delivered by accident that were meant to go to Aussie. A guy I used to work with owned one, Adam who lives out in Katikati. His was matte black with a rotary swap. I'll try and dig up a pic. Cheers Matt.
  17. Awesome looking truck! What thickness steel have you got on your notch? I ended up having to scrap my first notch due to the guy who did it not knowing the regs, would hate to see anybody else make the same mistake. Cheers Matt
  18. Cheers man. Your wagon used to live down the road from my old place, drove past it and pined lots. There should be a few crowns at OE, there's a small bunch of us weirdos in Perth.
  19. There's one of these at Tauranga pick a part, hopefully will have lots of the bits you need.
  20. Cool, this thing has been on gumtree way to long!!! Bring it to oriental express, need to apply soon though. Search it on Facebook.
  21. Ahhhhhhh pretty much my perfect wagon. Even brown. I'd go VE over VG but pretty much the same thing. Cheers Matt
  22. for reference for anyone else having issues finding info on ST190 coronas it seems the lower ball joint is the same as the ST204 celica. which is promising for the struts i'm looking at tomorrow cheers Matt
  23. Merry Xmas Corona!!! had most parts in stock, there was nothing listed for the ball joint, i grabbed an ST184 one but it won't work. also still in need of a rear strut but i've got the bent one out now so i'm going to take it for a drive and compare it to a pair of ST204 ones that are for sale on gumtree. also got the rear wheel bearing out, just need to wait until monday to use the press at work. CV's were a bit of a prick, but mainly because i haven't done any inners for ages so pissed around a bit and did it the long way. getting the passenger side one out of the gearbox was driving me mental until i googled it and someone mentioned using a slide hammer, which reminded me that the g/f's dad had one in the shed. bent strut housing the joys of spending half the day under a car which is covered in CV grease and engine oil leaks thinking along the lines of these for wheels, i think they'll suit and they're only $300 brand new. add $400 odd for tires and the whole car is still going to come in at around $2K which i'm pretty happy with while i was under there i found the rear engine mount was fucked so i'll pick one of those up early next week and she should be ready to go by wednesday the way things are going. fingers crossed!!! cheers Matt
