  1. Will be there on Sat, taking a couple cars.
  2. Looking good. Uno turbo motors are good swap for these and make them go like stink. Common conversion. Smoke on overrun could quite well be valve guides which are a PITA to change on those. http://www.fiatforum.com a good place for advice.
  3. Wells, a heap has happened in the past couple months. Another two Zephyrs add to the collection. One bought is partially restored and partially put back together by previous owner, have intentions of fix and possibly keep. Has an overdrive which I'm stealing for my red one. And the other was a freebie from someone who tracked down our car club. This basket case has been sitting by the ocean for 15 years, and as you can see, is falling apart. A half assed wash made it look heaps better. Don't have pics of it washed though. This is it when I got it home, on my awesome trailer. Spent today trying to get the motor running - previously the best I could manage was it turning over slowly. Replaced starter, and replaced leaky carb with a spare and it fired up with some tinkering. Running on 4 cylinders though Pulled the rocker cover off and was greeted with two stuck valves and this..... Bugger - valves - 1, pushrods - 0. Managed to free up one of the valves but the other is stuck fast, so will require head removal to free it up. So it runs on 5 now. Proof of concept though, motor runs and runs well considering, so I have a spare now with some work Also found an old 12ft side mount aerial for it, and a 3.5:1 complete diff which is lower ratio than current one. Sweeeeeeet
  4. Serious, splash out and buy ya own. Best thing I ever did
  5. Fully used to own one of these lol. Cost me nothing - fixed a truneon arm that had collapsed on it and then sold it for 500 bucks no wof and dereg. Not a bad car though. Good to see they still around though. The spot lights in the grille are the same ones on my zephyr Bought them from a wrecker ages ago and pulled them out the car myself. $5 the pair.
  6. Car show coming up in couple weeks so putting in some effort to tidy car up a bit. Old 2 blade fan New 4 blade fan, freshly painted. These are impossible to get in NZ as they were an accessory for much hotter countries, same with the guards around the sump which my Z doesn't, but the green one does. Sunvisor after freshly applied 20 odd coats of gloss white paint. This visor was a real basket case when I got it - massive rust holes and looking really worse for wear. Cut the rust out and welded in new strips, some filler and then lots of primer and sanding. And fitted. Next on the agenda for sprucing up will be side cover, rocker cover and intake oil bath. Sandblaster at work FTW.
  7. *really needs to keep up and read more threads* Where the fuck is this? Keen. Edit - should make everyone brings lotsa sparklers. Make a sparkler bomb (and no Koko they dont explode and cause havoc and maim and kill lol). Toyspeed did one a few years back with like 2000 sparklers. Public beach in Mission bay stz
  8. Keen And East Tamaki - was there about a month ago, can still do wide open throttle all the time.
  9. Been a little quiet, but working away with bits and bobs. Genuine 40 something year old Lucas Tri Star (NOS) headlight covers Genuine 40 something year old Enfo Breezies (NOS) And motor wise - I thought it was struggling to breathe. Out with the Hockey stick........ In with the tuned headers care of Coby After a bit of use (apparently coby dont use heatproof paint.....!!!!) And whilst at Als Mufflers (fully recommend these guys, awesome job), the Zephyr shared the floor with an Alfa Romeo - some SA turbo thing, limited production run. Looks fucking mean, and sounds godlike. Thats all for now
  10. Hoe, you got the crappy charade. Earlier G10 was awesome - metal bumpers and tacho etc - flasher than the later model one Fully miss that car. Weird & Wonderful collection though
  11. Edit - sorry bout pic size, photobucket meant to resize (like above) but hasn't, so make do lol. Unlike my red one, the original radio wasn't fitted in this Z, but has been included in the mulitude of parts that came with the car. It was however, fitted with this, a nasty Audio Strada tape/tuner headunit with a 10 stack Legacy brand changer in the boot. All well and good - nice and cheap and it worked, sort of. Just a minor niggle - it was supplying 12v to the right rear channel. Odd. Out comes radio......... Conclusion - radio stuffed. Cue new radio Panasonic CQC-1333W. Mp3 and aux in as well. Audio Strada removed from dash mount Some creative work in the shed and some brackets to make unit secure and harder to steal, and hey presto. Check front speaker operation - mint Pull back speakers apart and mount Pioneer 4s into original factory boxes, and sweet, systems all go See our guard dog armstrong there too - he's been there since the car rolled off the line in 55 (more of it's history) Sounds pretty tinny as you can imagine, but fine for the limited amount of use the car will get. Possibly looking at doing a small sub that'll hide in behind the spare wheel in the boot, in a fibreglass enclosure, not sure yet . But that's all for now. Also have just this weekend had a flash car alarm put in, locks disconnected etc (like mine) to keep unsavoury characters out.
  12. Well, I wish it was mine. It's actually my old mans. Has alot of history surrounding it (being one of the 1st in the world for example), has been in multiple magazines and books & won best car at several car shows, has every factory option ever available back then, and is 100% original - paint included (in fact it's starting to crazy crack on the roof and bonnet, and bar a couple of things like stereo and Klaxon horn that previous owner installed). And it's also painted in an experimental colour which is only used on it - Ford decided against using it. Oh, it's got it's original matching pedal car Also came with the shed of parts pictured - including the shed. Theres a replacement for everything on the car. Body panels and all. All mechanical etc etc blah blah blah
  13. Now, the audio....... Basic update - if you got any questions then ask lol. Spot my amp wiring , in fact, spot the amp lol. Source Unit - freebie (it's really not worth stealing) - basic fusion cd tuner thanks to the guys at Sound Q in Henderson, and 2Deaf (stephen). Even has full preouts & aux in!! (3.5mm stereo lead hidden up behind dash and pops out something handy to plug in WHY) Cd player don't work though Oh well. Was gonna go in the glovebox - but glovebox not deep enough. Eventually the car will need a full rebuild and then I'll do something custom hidden out of the way. And then basic box speakers that came off the rear parcel tray of my Familia gymkhana car Fit nicely under the seat. And theres 6.5s in the back tray. On spacers so tray remains intact. Thats pretty much it - just something basic til car costs too much in terms of WOFs etc and then I'll pull it off the road and redo it Also put an old 3 inch tacho in that I picked up from the Puke swapmeet a while ago for a buck
  14. It's weird aye - it's always someone else who gets the best pic of your own car
  15. Churrrrrrrrrr, pity I had the bonnet up lol! Still looks good though
  16. That one Hope you got pics of it. I forgot my camera. Did you see the Yellow Zodiac next to me?
  17. Damnit HYPO4D, where the pics of my Zephyr in all it's freshly washed and polished shinyness. It was there too.
  18. Fuck I hate it when people do that. Why can't they just fix something properly for once.
  19. Bling Bling, got me some new wheels and whitewalls Man, this thing gets some serious attention now!
  20. Well, some clown clubbed the back guard with a truck, so went to the Puke swapmeet, found a replacement tail light, still gotta get panelbeater to work some magic. And insurance company fun Also picked up a tacho for a buck, old style smaller black one, wired that up and works great. Pics to come. Hopefully should be some update pics tomorrow of the new bling too
  21. That 100E looks - ummmmmmmm, whats word I want. RUINED!
  22. Looking good man. You won't find a set of cragars to fit - you won't find anything to fit. Have a look - the wheel stud pattern is ancient - like 4x150 or something absolutely huge. Pity it aint still got the original vacumn wipers.
  23. I used to have a 73 Marina. Mustard yellow with tan vinyl roof. Was free - bastard previous owner de-reg it the day before I discovered it and he gave it to me He couldnt find a truneon arm joint for it - I had it replaced and running mint within 2 days lol.
