  1. Can it hurry the fuck up and be time for this ride already?!!!!
  2. Those graphs are hard to read on my phone. Any chance of a spreadsheet showing the result from each tested configuration?
  3. Feel free to tell me to go fuck myself, (I'd be offended if you didnt tbh) but thinking about this whip, Once you're finished with it, you could.turn.it into cash, and pump that into.paying someone to finish the body on your 110. Maybe you could.drive to OS nats 2013. (Os 20th anniversary)
  4. The video of it laying a fat skid isnt loading?
  5. I envisage most of the chch peeps.will shoot up there after work thurdsay, and stay the night. (Limitless accommodation options) then we'll meet (probably at the end of jollies pass road) and send it. Karl and I visited the people at the alpine village apartments on jollies pass road a few weeks ago. (Aka the camp where OS Hanmeet used for be held) we asked them about the likelihood of us being able to leave vehicles there while we're away. But they're in the throws of negotiating the sale of the lease on the Camp. They're going to stay in touch with Karl. We'll ask the new owners about it. Failing that I've got a few other leads. That camp it close to the ideal start point. Those alpine apartments may be a cost effective option for Thursday night too. Edit, No J-5 ranch.
  6. How many bikes could that monster Jackson electrical trailer haul @sentra? Make the best economic sence to shift all bikes in one load, and split the cost in ferry/gas/etc by that number of ways. I think I paid $300 one way for the first eastcape I did. (Eastcape 2.0) This is a very cheap adventure, bar the crippling cost of logistics/getting there.
  7. It is a fend for yourself deal with accommodation. You're right about being more fun being all together. But some people will be too soft for camping.
  8. If you have class 2, or R, T W endorsements you need a medical certificate. Which involves paying money to a GP/crook. Too hard basket
  9. It's a lot nicer now than it was post that nasty business
  10. That can probably be arranged. (One way or another)
  11. Bikes that are too too slow will hold up the support vehicles too. (I'm sure they'll wanna get where we're going and get otp too)
  12. I wouldn't reccomend this on a bike that cant maintain 60kph for extended periods. I've rolled 50cc twice in 5he north island, and being last is no fun.
  13. Slim to none. I don't have a bike license. (Which is why I've stuck to 50cc thus far) but im making to jump to big block now. FEILDINGS THE PLACE!
  14. I dont know these guys, I'm just off for a ride. /I'm not your mum.
  15. It fully is. That man is something else. Given that accommodation wont be a problem, theres not really a limit on how big this might get. (Within reason) but since I'm not your mum, (I struggle to take care of myself most of the time) theres going to be a lot of personal responsibility/look after each other. /probably be me needing my shoulder put back in on the side of the road/trip to hospital. (Again)
  16. Big creds go to @Willdat? Who has used his local knowledge to plan the route.
  17. Inspired by the sheer joy that has been the Eastcape Escapade, and the Te Urewera Undertaking, it's been decided that the south island needs something similar. Brace yourself for the Molesworth Moped Melee! We reckon it's going to go something like this, Friday 5th March, we're setting off from the beautiful alpine resort town of Hanmer springs. And traveling the Molesworth road, taking Taylor's pass, through to Blenheim for the night. This is around 200kms. (Mostly unsealed) https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1G4yXjXAnRQ8CSi-WwTN4hghbMgk89sek&usp=sharing We'll likely do a BBQ lunch on this day, because there is literally nothing on this route. Day 2, Blenheim to Nelson. With a possible detour up the north bank of the Wairau river, and up mount Patriach Then back through to Nelson via the Maungatapu track/past the Maitai dam. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1rk2QIYvV-II3QYy6cvcHh-ygYrv_g9uq&usp=sharing Day 3, Nelson back to Hanmer, via St Arnaud, and the Rainbow road (toll road). https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1PTxU0yCmEI9Ogb2r58O_4cDfhcx-w5MM&usp=sharing We have some parties interested I driving back up vehicles with trailers. They can carry some gear. But riders are encouraged to be as self suffiecnt as possible. This post will be updated with proper maps and shit later. But I wanted to get it out there to get the fizz going. For those not familiar with the north island format, this is a ride for scooters/mopeds/small bikes. Theres no challange in attempting this on a 750cc adventure bike. More specific information will be added, as I think of it.
