Josh replied to J_Feral's topic in South Island Region
This friday? I'll be in chch and picking capri up so might roll along in it and meet some people possibly then -
Fuck man, I reckon you will over take me powerwise with that that large sized snail on it!
-
Going to need a handbrake cable made up in the near future for capri. Where in chch would do this?
-
Yea ill post the graph when i get it. Changed the throttle body to a rb25det one to. I told them 6k rev limit on 18psi. They said it peaked at 5k rpm

Na nzefi in chch

Sitting on the ferry back from wellington and got a call from tuners. Capri spun up 195kw on the Dyno. Im so bloody stoked, was expecting 180 max. Will do big update with pics in a week or so with a video of it to. Taken just over 3 years to get to this point!
-
More timeline keeping. We worked on it all Saturday and got it sorted and ready for tuning. Dropped it into tuners Saturday night, booked in for dyno tune on thursday. Fingers crossed everything goes to plan and I can go back to chch this coming weekend and take her for a spin!

Be keen for this. Should be on the road and going by then so be keen as to attend any oldschool events happening. -
Mates brother did this conversion I'm pretty sure then pulled engine to paint car and it's been in a shed ever since haha. Could possible get more info if you wanted.
-
Small update, more for the sake of me keeping a timeline than anything else. Couple weekends ago loaded it up onto the trailer and set off to chch where dropped it off at a mates workshop there where he is going to finish of some bits and pieces for me which I don't have the tools for. Then it's ready for a tune. Will probably get it certed and warrented while it's there. Have a few days off work so going to go down to chch on wednesday and get a start on it, so with both of us doing something on it, hopefully it'll be done in the next week or so. Here's hoping, this shit's gone on way to long!
-
That is so fucking cool. Fuck sakes I want it. Video of driving please.
-
Shit didn't see that coming, but god damn is that one badass capri.
-
Yes went and saw your mate paul/brought them, went to engineering store to get a piece to fit onto bits brought from repco and the guy there sorted me out with the fitting I needed (couldn't last time and didn't seem to remember who I was), so didn't need the bits from repco after all. Got the shitty bits all sorted though which is what i wanted!! Cheers for wiring advice. Have 3 gauges to wire in. Oil pressure gauge has an ignition wire, if I just pull casing off around steering wheel and find a wire thats dead when keys off and on when well...keys on with a volt meter, will be sufficent?
-
Awesome to see something different being done. Love the wheels all tucked up under guards. if it ends up like the picture, again, you will be the man
-
So just grab half or so of the wires off current wire out the side and carry another wire off that? Sweet.
-
haha sweet. may have found some other wires that arent being used to join to. Another question...whats the best way to join into a wire thats already there, can you like 't' off it with another wire?
-
Stupidly easy question I'm sure, but I've never crossed it and want to do it right. Just about to wire in the light for my boost and oil pressure gauges, can I just run a wire from the +ve side of one one the gauges in and working already to the +ve on the ones I'm installing, effectivly bridging it I guess. Or will this cause trouble/shorting?
-
They also said no, no 1/8" npt fitting whatso ever. Hmmm i think Blenheim branches just suck
-
Left a diagram of what i wanted and my phone number there, they never got back to me. May pay to go back in there at soem stage if I have no other leads. It certainly didn't seem like they had them though.
-
Ok, I have an autometer c2 series boost gauge. it has a 1/8" NPT screw on fitting on the back of it, It didn't come with any pushlock fitting for the shitty little hose that it come with, but I don't want to use that anyway. What i'm after it a screw on fitting that will convert the rediculously hard to find 1/8" NPT thread to something more common that engineering places stock. Because what i want to do it have a screw on fitting on the back of the gauge that will then convert down to a barb fitting to take a push on hose that I can clamp. Anyone understand what I mean, and more importantly, where the hell can I get this type of fitting? It seems like I've tried everywhere but I'm sure someone knows somewhere that may have what i'm after! Cheers!

Plaster my house for me bol. Got shitty blocks on outside, be way more legit plastered over
-
That's awesome! Seems to hold a straight line extremly well considering the power to when he's boosting through the gears.
-
Damn you just keep getting shit done. Awesome, that motor just jumped out of nowhere didn't it! Fuck man! Not a fan of the bonnet bulge but probably change my mind once it's painted and together, not that it matters! Keep updating and hurry up and tell them to get that paint on, I'm dying to see how sick it will look! Way to many exclamation marks.

^^ That thing is just mental lol. 170bhp at idle ....
