  1. ^ would look awesome with a Wade blower hanging off the side of it!
  2. ^sounds like a plan. Offer is open to anyone needing anything hauled.
  3. @MopedNZ chuck your gear in my ute and enjoy the ride mate. Can even haul from Tga if you want.
  4. You can bench set them by removing the bowl and placing it upside down on a level surface then adjust the float level until the float hangs about horizontally level
  5. The beauty of holleys is their tuneability, lots of adjustment with jet sizes, accelerator pump cams, power valves and so-on. I would start with the basics. {In the old days of leaded fuel you could just pull a spark plug and it would tell what you need to do but unfortunately we don't have that luxery anymore.} Firstly check the float levels are correct. There should be a bung in the side of the fuel bowl, If you remove this and rock the car slightly the fuel should just spill out over the edge of the bung hole. (bahahahaha he said bung hole) if not your float level is wrong. Then have a look at the idle mixture, fire the car up and set the revs slightly above idle, around 1000rpm, then wind the idle screw in slowly till you hear the engine note change, wind back out half a turn, this usually gets them pretty close. If you wind the idle screw all the way in and nothing changes it usually means you are way over jetted (too rich). Try these few basics out and see how you get on.
  6. When we used to install holleys on v8's, first thing we did was get piece of welding rod and attach it to the choke linkage so that the choke was always wired open and unable to be closed. Correctly tuned the car should be able to be started by a couple of quick pumps on the gas then hit the key with no further accelerator, should fire straight up every time.
  7. ^this. The lsd's in my holden utes used to get a bit clunky, suck all the old oil out, replace with good lsd oil and sometimes an additive, head to nearest large empty carpark and perform slow rolling figure 8's (no smoke). Problem fixed. Have done this on around 8 lsd cars.
  8. Can confirm that I will have a bbq onboard back-up support vehicle no.2, along with food transporting capabilities. we can purchase said food @ opotiki or Whakatane before journey commencement and cook/consume at will if desired.
  9. One thing to consider when slinging ply and roofing iron under a chopper is the downdraft, it may be safer to "hang" the sheets vertically so they catch less wash from the blades, but I guess a good ground crew will know all the ins and outs of this.
  10. I have signed on as back-up support vehicle. Will have plenty of space for gear/food and will prob bring along the bbq for day one lunch and sat night grazing. And of course fuel/booze/water/tool cartage.
  11. ^ ls1 power more than makes up for lack of seating though
  12. My ute is only single cab with bucket seats but does have a full size flat deck, also have choice of covered in single axle trailer or single axle cage trailer. Not much space for extra bums on seats but could be handy as tool/gear/food carrier in a tail end charlie type role to take care of any on-road issues
  13. I was thinking more along the lines of a couple of swapper crates filled with ice cold amber liquid.
  14. I will be back in time for this, Was telling the boss all about it and he practically insisted that I go. I will catch up with you in the next few days and discuss. Would prob be ute and trailer if needed. Can carry gas, food, luggage etc and maybe throw in a bbq for grazing.
  15. So how many bikes are going this year? Is one support ute enough?
  16. Big test will be when you plug the jug in for smoko.
  17. They are also quite good at smashing gearboxes, would not recommend, from experience.
  18. My pick is the Tridents with eagers, can understand the appeal of the os turbos but they never floated my boat, even back in the day.
  19. Have ute and cage trailer, will travel. Happy to provide support/carry beer.
  20. Nice car, and nice work talking the better half into "the need" for a 4 door car, yet still retaining your 2 door rides.
  21. Think I'm heading up thurs. Staying opposite public toilets next to surf club. Look for black car with green flames. Pop in and say hi and have ale/bourbon
