my axle tube is about 85mm or so,havent measured it, but if i put it on top the body will be hard on the diff/bumpstops etc..
wouldnt be so bad if i could actually get some bigger rims for it like 15x7s or something and run a 245/60 and fit lake pipes and front lip to make it look like its lower...
whos had them done?
whats the ride quality like afterwards??
and what did you pay for it to be done?
i wanna lower my transit, i cant do it with blocks cos the diff and front beam is under the leaves, itll just jack it higher.
i dont think flipping them will be a good option cos the van must be quite heavy..
although the leaves seem fairly flat almost allready...
whats ya thoughts?
that clears that up then...not 3 litre, but a 3l...
should have mech pump then, so try and wind it back untill you get injectors done..
the very first thing id try is clean the air filter,if its blocked itll also cause that
see if you can pick up a set of injectors for it... i take it its a 1kz..
these go fucking good when theyr going....should be a heap around that are getting wrecked
try winding back the fuel a bit until it stops smoking, get its wof, then wind it back up until you get it sorted
what colour smoke?
i had a surf that smoked quite bad(white ish blue)mainly on acceleration from idle and cold start up, put in a catch can and it sorted it, cos it had blow by..
my tranny van was smoking thick black smoke cos of over fuelling, adjusted the fuel and shes sweet..
mean....
also if you decide to upgrade the turbo on the l28et ill put my hand up for the stock turbo, i have one on my ld28...needs another...
the us spec looks pretty sweet...
seriously though have you checked the input shaft for play?
i would doubt the spigot bearing would be fukt and causing it, normally they catch and drag the input shaft causing engagement issues...
from what i remember anyway...
noises like that are usually either the release (throw out) bearing or a fucked input shaft bearing.
if thats the part im thinking of theyr shit...i had the rubber coupling anti vibration thing or whatever teh fuck it is, anyway had one tear off in a mk5 cortina at a set of lights...didnt even dump the clutch...
to me at the time had all the symptoms of no clutch/blown box etc, but a quick look underneath with it in gear and running showed the rubber do dah was fucked..
luckily i walked to my uncles place around the corner and picked one up from a wrecker for $20..score..
there used to be a really good tech archive thing on 5speed in to eskys etc...
FFS CLICK!!! runamuck is bart? haha lol....fuck im onto it...
seen that set up, quite badass...
should go good on a esky...
would you need to lower the comp though?
ok after pulling it apart again to retrieve the pesky socket shes all back together..
took it for a fang down the rd and it never smoked at all...
odd...
i will however be putting a reg on it and flick it off...
seriously need $ to get the stocky back on the track...
best post yet...
i know im out of my depth..
ive posted copious amounts of threads on both the mopar and hemi sites and nothing decent in return.
the cam end float has been dealt with on this engine by modding the timing cover.
the current head and block have been skimmed, and its never been hot..
ive ordered a composite gasket,so if that doesnt solve it the whole thing is going in the bin..
go back to the trusty ford 6
was puuting it all back together and got to the last nut and what do you know i drop the fucking socket into the turbo!!!
right into the comp housing...dammit
so now i have to take it all apart again....
should add that when i had the head off it the pistons were all good,no mass amounts of soot/carbon etc, bores looked good, valves had a bit of carbon on them, but no noticable fuckage...
think i had pics somewhere
it did have smoke from the exhaust, not thick though, didnt notce a heap of oil use,
it had fuel present in the oil, i think its from the mech pump fucking out...
would that thin the oil out enough to pass by the rings/guides etc???
hmmm, maybe it is the guides that cause the smoking....if i give it a rev theres abit of blowby/smoke from the rocker cover breather filter...
wouldnt be a stupid idea to do them really...
