  1. i love mk5's.... 6 days ae... good effort..would look sweet with a good set of bumpers on it does require a bit more lowness...
  2. pulled the old ld out the other night...what a mission...i pulled it out with the trans attached.. the driveway is now covered in atf...dammit swapped the turbo and manifolds onto the replacement motor...a few things were different on it compared to the other one.. but should still do the job. the old one had a water cooled oil filter housing, this new one doesnt....the sensors are different aswell.. the replacement motor appears to have a new water pump on it too..score got the engine and trans back in today, another bloody mission...but shes in,and 90% hooked up. just need to bleed the fuel system, fill the trans with atf, hook up trans loom,do up engine mounts etc,put exhaust back on and fire it up...hopefully oh,and this replacement motor doesnt have the rev/tacho sensor in the timing cover,gutted... i might have to try and take the old one out of the old motor and see if its easy enough to put into the replacement...
  3. different (turbs val) but bloody sweet...that would sound sweet love the grey block too, and also disslike polished coolers...spesh on old school rides
  4. im looking at getting a hz belmont wagon. the roof/guttering is a bit chewed by cancer so will need a section cut out and replaced.. i would attempt it but not too keen tbh.. so anyone wanna do a cashy? i can show you a pic of what needs to be done first. i will also locate a replacement roof section that will include the a and b pillars and a large section of the roof from mid windscreen back if that makes any sense... dont mind towing it over to chch/nelson etc...car is in hokitika cheers...
  5. is that it, just to get it to run? obviously theres other wires for tacho etc yeah? choice..... oh, what about fuel pump wire??
  6. how cunty is the injection/ecu to wire up??
  7. ok, found a pearler!!! amazing what you can find when you search through unrelated crap http://members.ozemail.com.au/~brettsue ... /index.htm
  8. also http://www.oldholdens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=51
  9. stumbled across this http://oldholden.com/node/31769
  10. i doubt that vn brakes would be bolt on would they? ;p i should chuck the vn diff in too..but im not after a big mission.. just something fairly simple. my v6 turned up today.... will be a mean v6 carby motor..will put a 4 barrel on it.. get the loom and ecu modded if i can find someone to do it..
  11. does anyone know if a 3.8 v6 will go into a hj holden without too many issues?? would like to steer clear of cutting the tunnel and sump.... will use a t5 manual from a vn
  12. well thats different..."must be the nuts".... i like it...do the front rims stick out of the guards or is it just an illusion? flared/rolled arches, a bit of dish and some slam and this would be noice moite
  13. yup.my old man used to always use weet bix boxes...win...
  14. ive only ever checked oil, water etc...wound over to get oil pressure before allowing it to fire, and let it idle for a while before giving it a rev up... this commy ive got to pick up has been sitting since 2008,put a jump pack on it,wnd wind vroom, fired up,had a wee cough then ran smooth as silk...didnt give it rev much though... but ill end up giving it a oil change, coolant flush and new plugs anyway...
  15. pick up another ld28 this weekend, got it cheap, so why not.. will get wof, reg, ruc and sell i think.. on another note i won this on trademe, was an impulse buy... quite cheap i thought.. has a mild cam and flowed heads...vr motor. picking up a running manual vn wagon tomorrow night.. mainly after the loom,ecu...will see if i can fit the vn crank into the vr cos its a manual so has a flywheel.. choice bro Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  16. should i put the turbo on the new motor or just run it N/A???
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 893434.htm own it with this... oh and you can use a k50 box, theyr allright if you dont thrash them and theyr cable clutch, the escort cable fits it too
  18. if you want a newer motor with reliability and minimal mods then go with a 4age.. cant get more simple with them.. use a ke70 driveshaft and get a flange adaptor hub made up or get a custom driveshaft made up. cut n shut the manifold to remount the throttle body if its a fwd motor. new mounts and get the wiring modified so its a 3 wire hook up.. new fuel pump and ya done... 4age rwd extractors fit in aswell.. i was surprised how easy it was when i did my one..
  19. getting another ld is gonna cost the same coin... and theyr usually poked anyway..
  20. itll be getting done then pretty much sold anyway most ld's out there are fukt... and i wouldnt do fuk all kms anyway when i only get 2 days off work a month.. and never go away
  21. seeing as weve sold our proceed and were down to only 2 vehicles (2000 explorer, tranny van) and 2 transport trailers and a stockcar weve decided to get the van back on the rd.. so to do that i know i will need new front brake pads, cos its practically metal on metal... all in know is theyr subaru calipers, but model is unknown... also need to figure out how i can get it to start in park rather than reverse.. get the reverse lights to go... thats all i know of that itll need.. once it has a wof, the ld28 will come out and a l20et will go in will need to find out how it gets wired up...the exhaust off the ld28 should bolt straight on cos its got a l20 turbo anyway.. ill try and fit the ld28 trans to the l20,so i hope like fuk that works out.. mounts should all be the same.... just need an efi pump, the van has a elec pump but i doubt its a high pressure one.... choice
  22. nah, dont want diesel anymore, costs too damn much to keep it on the rd.. pretty much got that l20et sown up.just gotta get over to pick it up.. im getting the complete motor, minus box,and flywheel...
  23. sounds positive.. are they prone to melting anything?? yup will put the ld up on one of them later on....gonna take the van for a wof before i take it out though, cos its certed for dieseline...would i need to recert it for petrol??? im sure no mounts would change, just the fuel type, and some power increase
  24. i dont mind ripping the crank out seeing as itll be going to a good home/worthy cause.. whats ya offer on the crank?
