  1. Post action report: @jesselc, @76rolla_gurl, @JustHarry, @datto_610, and others went out. Wasn't too bad turn out, 30ish cars. Best part was leaving early and getting a beer at the pub. No pics but really nice turbo Corona coupe there. Such pine.
  2. Or dive another 10 and come help me clean the garage?
  3. RFB started in 1985 so there will be some there. Most likely R31/32 and C32/33 chassis cars.
  4. TBH watching an RFB fest could be fun. Take hilux for max incognito.
  5. Rat rods down at NPD Rolleston Friday evening, Petrol head breakfast Sunday morning, and Rock and wheels down at amberly. Plenty of other stuff to do. That CHCH Oldschool meet seems to be turning into one big shit storm.
  6. So the car made it to Hanmer with some help from @- i5oogt -, @JustHarry, @EpochNZ, And @76rolla_gurl. It was mostly just cleaning and fitting interior stuff and making the brakes work properly. In a moment of poor judgment I drilled through the floor of the car without looking under it and squarely went through the fuel and brake lines. That took up some precious time. I got a set of factory wheels of @Beaubot which had good tyres and found a set of trim rings and hubcaps. The night before Hanmer I took it for my first short drive on the road and found it quite peppy all be it slow. And the valve clearance needed doing. @Nick Ritchie, @Tumeke, And @fletch also showed up the night before and talked words of encouragement? With many eyes on the task the wire for Temp gauge was finally found by fetch and quickly hooked up with quality twist and tape. The master cylinder decided to pack up fully on the rear circuit during hanmer but I could still stop sort of. I stripped it down today and it looks good internally just meeds new seals. The weekend proved the gearing in the rear is a little short and NA dorts are fun but run out of huff on hills. So turbo and taller diff are the next thing. As well as a boot seal. Post rally stage by @SunnyCoupe /tag erryone
  7. Release the hand brake and back the adjuster off. With a ball peon hammer tap the outside around in a circle with enough force to shock it but not do damage. you need to shock it in a circular motion to loose the corrosion. have a helper pull on the disc.
  8. 10 weeks since we picked it up. It's Wofed but still far from done.
  9. Personal experience of mine was given 14 days compliance after getting pulled up just after failing a wof and driving to the auto glaziers to get the windscreen replaced.
  10. I feel like taking advice from that website is asking for trouble. https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/344362/man-to-pay-dollar100k-for-defaming-vehicle-certification-industry
  11. Don't know If you've seen this but I came across a 1G-GZTE a few years ago when I wanted to make the Crown wagon fast https://www.celicasupra.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-15977.html http://www.billzilla.org/rallycar.htm More interesting than helpful but apparently makes 450 HP
  12. Problem is I live an hour from the car so have to delegate the last shit I didn't get done in the weekend. I think I'll look like an alcoholic with all the Blue Diesel that I'll have to buy for the happy helpers.
  13. I'm disappointed there's not bajaing going on.
  14. Might be worth a look for some cool rat rods. Friday After Hanmer https://www.facebook.com/events/268113630684034/?active_tab=discussion
  15. HMMM Maybe Roll Coal LD - Turbo. @kyteler do you have any rear doors without rust. One of mine has some getting a little close to the hinge.
  16. Which Karl?? One outs in the carpark @- i5oogt - or @280zx_nz
  17. I'm kinda fizzing over this style but have LD - Turbo on the side
  18. Quick Update: @JustHarry Cut some shit And we cobbled together an exhaust system out of some spare 2" pipe and the remains of the parts wagons exhaust. I think it still has the front struts to suit the Z18 because they're not too far off the bump stops. Yay free slam but it gives the car a good 45mm rake front to rear. Saturday night I got very frustrated with wiring because of nothing having plugs and being in odd spots but the Charge light and oil pressure light work, it charges the battery, the fuel tank is bolted in and plumbed up, I bolted a front on the car (which something isnt quite straight), And I started cleaning out the interior. The Parts wagon had a full set of halogen lights which have made their way onto the car. Didn't get it ready for a Wof unfortunately but not much more to do. Just adjust and bleed brakes again, Tidy up then engine bay, clean and fit interior, and get some tyres with tread on them off @Beaubot.
  19. Its looking a little 50/50 ATM. Didn't get enough done for a WOF check this week so It will be pull finger next weekend. Might take an extra day off work next week for wof check.
  20. Looking at an LD Bedford on tard in Silverdale, Auckland. Just want the engine, trans, and related gubbins out of it. Anyone keen on having it on their front lawn until I come up in December?
