Must be a very early one to have a carburetor. The Aisin carbs are dogshit inefficient and they tend to be pretty hungry on fuel. Best thing you cam do is find a small Holley and make a adapter plate. Seems like a bargain what you paid for it especially If it's been done up already

If you do decide to run an a43d I've got a low kms (140km) one out of a soarer under my bench

The 4v was actually in century's. They never fitted a v8 to a crown till the 1uz came out. As far as a overdrive trans a a43d would work but I doubt a bellhousing exists for it

What causes this? It's on my ms65 crown. Internally regulated alternator that charges at 14v. It's always done it and it's pretty annoying

Ended up putting another 5m in this. One showed up on marketplace and I acquired it. Was a bit scabby inside. Ended up swapping cam/lifters/oilpump/sump/can chain and tensioner(Near new)/ and did a headgasket and stem seals whilst it was apart. from spare motors to make it a good thing. Looks like a low kms motor as theres no visible bore wear Then this happend Then this also happened Running good again . Making doort noises Even got a good photo or two taken of it . Wow much high definition so quality And that's much story

Jon palmer. We use him at work. He is temuka based though. Has done a few scratch builds for us and many other jobs . What you want to do would likely be right up his alley

Its so toyota could save 300ish* mm of positive battery cable from one side to the other. Across 11ty billion surfs/prados probbaly ads up to a pretty good saving. I'd imagine for the factory to jam 2 different batteries was probably less expensive that to ad the extra battery cable. Fuck the consumer *May be more or less that's a guess

The ns70 are inexpensive. The ns70l is almost twice the price. Good luck

Stripped the motor down. Crank bearing were toast but surprisingly its 0.5 over bore already . Piston is a bit scuffed but a hone and a clean will do fine. Gonna check crank run out whilst its apart to be sure .

So yeah decided I needed at bike for moped melee 2023 that would be maximum self punishment so bought this off @Carsnz123 Early 70s ish I dont really know Is an old farm bike from the looks. Dirt everywhere and a massive rear sprocket for easy hill climbing. Runs pretty well but further investigation proves the crank is a but sloppy in the case so will split it and throw a set of bearing at it. Also the clutch is rekt so got a set of plates off ebay on the way . I'm not gonna restore it or any of that rubbish. Just get it running good. New shocks and tyres and use it as is

Ended up with this. 50x100 welded onto the channel to hold the coupling and jockey wheel. Plated underneath with some 6mm under the join. Will run some 25x25 rhs underneath as a brace right up to under the coupling. Should stiffen it right up.
