  1. Some updated pictures I took this morning. Unfortunately a bunch of water got under the clear on the trunk lid and now looks horrible. Luckily it can't be seen on the photos so you guys can just pretend you didn't read that. Coming sideways soon in a hood near you.
  2. Thanks. I do still feel like it is a little but of a shame but at the end of the day I like the e28 more and I just can't have this many cars at the moment. Swiftly moving forward quite literally when the motor is in, haha. I'm planning to swap the all the brakes over onto the e28 too as apparently it's a bolt on upgrade. The wheels are 17" and will be for sale when the car is parted. TSWs with 235/45 Bridgestone Potenzas. It was on trademe so probably is the same one. I will be parting it out so all the parts I don't need will be up for sale. Just let me know what you are after. However at this point I'm not 100% sure when it will be as it has WOF until May and I has some things to sort out first. Depending on what it is we might be able to work something out beforehand, just send me a PM.
  3. On new years day I picked up this donor and proceeded to spend the following few days practicing my drifting in the rain: A manual 535i with LSD. Before anyone gets upset, the car is far from as good as it looks in the photos. It has quite a few rough edges, paint is flaking everywhere and is generally not that great cosmetically. But mechanically it runs and drives so nice and has done around 170,000 kms. It is my favorite car to drive of all the cars I have at the moment, but let's be honest, the running gear will be far cooler in my e28. So that's the plan. I've also made some small changes to the e28 including e36 illuminated window switches and a gear knob emblem that I made by grinding down and polishing an old steering wheel badge.
  4. Photo from the drag day (thanks Mrs OnTheTree): Finished the wheels earlier this week. Got some tyres and put them on. As a side note, does anybody else see a face in the drivers window on the first photo? Excuse the bit rubbish photos. I'm going to lower the rear by a notch later and take some better ones with a real camera.
  5. All four wheel lips done, ready for painting now which will hopefully happen next week. Should have them on by next weekend. Also installed some more shiny bits in the engine bay. Raised the boost a bit too, goes noticeably harder now. See you all at the drags tomorrow.
  6. Unfortunately I'll have to break it to you that these are getting very hard to find these days. Edit: Just realised I might be able to sort one out for you. Hahaha. I swear I'm not just trying to push the price. PM if you are interested.
  7. I found an instruction page on how do mould your own a while back, I'll see if I can find where I saved it. Wanted to give it a go.
  8. Not that I do Christmas but if we are can you pair me with someone with a mk2 so I can give them something out of my overflowing pile of mk2 parts? That would be great.
  9. Quick teaser. Need to finish two more of the lips then paint the centers and caps. All going well these should be on in 2 weeks.
  10. Some recent photos I took: Also scored some 15x7 ABT wheels with all center caps and tyres for really cheap so I will be restoring those to go on. I will be polishing the lips and painting the centers the same anthracite grey that the wheels on my E28 are. Currently on the 180 grit stage.
  11. Edit: Woops wrong thread.
  12. Thanks for organizing, I had a great time. Sorry I couldn't join you guys going to 73crownwagon's, would have loved to but I had to go help someone. Next time.
  13. I had a Blackridge one and I have to say for a cheap gun I was quite impressed with it. Wet sanding and compound does help heaps too when it doesn't turn out perfect.
  14. Are you nuts? You should consider yourself so lucky. Hahaha.
  15. I'm going to be at that as well anyway, don't worry. As Roman says, why not both?
  16. Friend of mine took me along to this and I'm glad I went. Going to enter my car now in one of the upcoming ones, probably either December or January. You all should too.
  17. Thanks Brock. I have researched all that. If I can find a manual e36 I'll just swap the lot in, which would be ideal. I'll see what happens in the next few months, for now I'm just going to drive it and probably won't do anything until I get back from Serbia next year. I don't want to leave the car half done in my parent's driveway, will probably find it at the scrapyard upon my return. Haha.
  18. Nothing special really, I just like the look of them and have the time to polish them, haha. The benefits of working from home. Thanks but getting the paint off wasn't that hard, it's the polishing of the metal that takes a while. I've done it so many times now though that it's no big deal.
  19. Some more new tings. Got some wheels off Cul8r (yes, I got all 4 before someone asks): Stripped the paint: Now I'm sanding: The plan is to polish the spoke faces and lips and paint the center bits around the bolt holes and the spokes sides black. Also put in my Wolfsburg steering wheel. And check my new radio, how's that for period correct? I've got my ticket to the twilight session at Hampton on Wednesday which should be good fun. However the car has had a bit of an idle issue for a while and in an attempt to diagnose it the other day I started unplugging and replugging things and now it's worse. Haha. Let's hope a throttle body calibration at least puts it back to how it was, as that was what I unplugged when it when worse. Bloody new school electrics, I do miss a throttle cable. I'll be going regardless but would be nice if it's running ok.
