  1. Ha ha yeah! That's a great call right there!!! I just can't help myself...see shiny parts and I just gotta have em
  2. Cheers. Need to start getting engine bits now slowly but surely
  3. Here is one of my nos mazda 13b polished housings with some exhaust work done - I have a set. I bought these yesterday $60 and my mate has another 2 currently on his mazda 1000 so now I have a set. I was going to roll the 323 steelies but the rx2 steelies are just that much nicer. I have a new set of rx2 inner wheel centres to go with them and a full set of chrome dress rings also. Here is the Italian 48 Ida I traded for a rx2 rear garnish and $100us to a mate in LA. Result!!
  4. Managed to get some good used coupe rear quarter and door glass sorted so that's all good. I swapped a spare set of tail garnish off an rx2 for a genuine Italian 48 Ida from USA so that's a mini result. I need to change the chokes and tubes but that's no issue. I gave it a tear down and clean so it's looking nice and I even plonked my K&N filter in top. Also I bought new rx4 13b old school housings that have been polished and have had some exhaust port work done already. I. On the hunt for 12a tall port plates now and 13b rotors etc. I've been looking for a set of rx2 steelies and have had sets offered to me for $400. I'm it too keen to pay that much so I Sussed a set of 2 off a trademe advert $60 and as luck would have it my mate has 2 on his mazda 1000 so that's me sorted. Hoping to get stuck into the left to right conversion over Easter. Pics will be taken and beers will be had.
  5. I had some more time the other day to have a better look at the car. I'm pleased how it's looking too. Under the left guard Under the right guard New 13" white walls turned inside My left hand USA spec mazda mirror And I caved and bought a used set of mazda RX5 fender mirrors this week. Should be with me in a week......
  6. So I got to see the car for the first time the other week, albeit for only 10min. I got to sit in the mouldy seats and make rotor noises whilst holding the steering wheel. Speaking of steering wheel - I nabbed the RX2 coupe wheel from the boot and decided to give it a sand, prime and a lick of paint.
  7. I saw it for about 10min the other day but didn't have time to whip old old tarp. Sat in the seat and held the wheel which ROCKED. The interior was mouldy as but exterior looked good with the exposed metal patches are still exposed metal. Hope to drag it out the shed this week perhaps.
  8. Thats rad! So the 20b is seized? ^^ I'd be happy owning that too.
  9. Thats COOL AS!!! Cheers for sharing. PM me if you are after any bits as I might be able to point you in the right direction.
  10. Not at this stage mate. Any pics of yours? Sounds cool as hell! Is it USA spec?
  11. That's a minter!!!! What a cool as cruiser
  12. Lovely old ute! I'm out for a cool XY ute but this is rad. Love how clean it looks
  13. Clean as left hooker. Any major plans for it or is it a cruiser?
  14. Here is one of the problem rust areas I need to have sorted for compliance. It's not too bad compared to others I've seen but it still needs to be fixed so I can take a step toforward to get this road legal. Here is the rx2 rear windscreen/parcel tray cut I scored off a car in the states recently. Currently getting sand blasted in nz. I thought I'd never find one of these but hey, one turned up. It is off are rust fee coupe shell - should save me cash and that's what it is all about. All rust MUST be repaired by a certified repairer or it won't pass compliance and won't get on the road in NZ therefore the more panels I can supply, the cheaper it becomes for me. For those looking at doing similar, you can't do the repairs or get your mates to do them as by law, it must go to a certifier as they sign off their work. Not anyone else's unfortunately. Now all I need is these panels fitted and tidied up and then the front windscreen lower channel done and bingo. This panel just saved me shed loads.
  15. Here is my rear garnish collection...the second set is sold Bracket fab brought to you by my mate Clint - sorry if they are out of sequence. He did this last summer when he was back from London. GC! The original front seats were toast so I bought some recaro fishnets Heater passenger seat...us spec option?? The fn steering wheel is still on the wrong side
  16. One of my most favourite things.....the old dealership light Here is a cheeky pc of the nos series 2 rx2 616 grille still in its.original sealed bag. It is a thing of beauty. I have these for the rear rust repairs....the sedan quarters share the same shape mostly as the coupe. This is the same for all the 2s 3s and 4s from what I can see. I pulled the back bumper out of the loft today and gave it a fool old rub down with some de greaser and autosol. Needs more of a buff so will attack it later. Before After The dented one My NOS RX2 tail lenses
  17. haha cool. What parts do you need? I have a bit of NOS Mazda bits kicking about. 618 manual would have me in a lather RHD..winning
  18. HAHAHA I wouldn't have thought about it until driving your car! Rotor for me sorry....
  19. Here is the genuine RX2 coupe steering wheel I got with the RX2 beaver panel/lights. RX2 sedan steering wheels don't have the horn buttons on the 3 struts from the centre - coupe ones do although European coupes don't. Coupe steering wheels are $650aus....Not what I paid Here is the beaver panel I sourced from Florida and the rear garnish from Aussie. Can't wait to have this on the coupe
  20. Here are pics of the day it got picked up from Tauranga - I have some great mates for doing this as I was living in London at the time. Even have the real RX2 buzzer dash dials to swap in
  21. 618 Manual!!!!!! Awesome - do you have a pic? the 1.8L was seized and potentially is still on the wheel barrow. I'm a rotor head so it must be rotorised to quench my urges. As for the USA spec red 616/618 tail lights, these have been sold to aussie (for 1/3 of what I paid for the entire car)!!!! RE the wheel arch rust - I have 2 NOS RX2 rear quarter panels that I'm using the lower half for the repairs as they are the same as the coupe. Pics to follow. There is rust below the rear windscreen too - I tracked down a parcel tray cut from a wrecked coupe in USA for $400 delivered to NZ. This will save me bucket loads for the compliance repairs. For a bit of time spent on the phone and loads on the internet I should have saved myself most of the initial compliance quote of 4-6k as that was fabbing all the repair panels. Now I have all new or mint used replacement parts to cut and shut in. I'm keen to prove that these cars needn't be out of budget for the typical joker. Patina - it shall stay the same. Ya just can't buy patina.
  22. The CB areal is gone haha. Although I can picture myself chatting to the truckies "shepherd to lost sheep - got ya ears on come back" I will PM XSSteve re the lock up. I will be on the North Shore Re the LHD - let me sit in it for a bit and get the feel. Something about LHD mazdas i'm uneasy with? I don't mind chev fords but personally I would prefer RHD. Cheers for all the input and comments!!!
  23. Hey!!!!! - maaaaate...I'm gagging to see it. I think mid january I will have a look. Need a fn garage in Auckland now...sigh
  24. Took this for a fang yesterday and let me tell you all she flies!!!!!!!! I drove it with the mazda 12a elford turbo and the v6 piston....both went sweet. I'm a rotor guy but that V6 HAULED Cheers Alex - good to see ya
