  1. Cheers ky but I would struggle to convince myself to walk across Feilding for another set let alone inter Island
  2. No thanks sparkle that paint can idea sounds about as good as your stretched rally tyres on 7" rims idea. It serves a purpose, peeling paint and exposed bog will suffice until rust repair / coat of jam is complete
  3. Shit yea that would be shit hot thanks nick! This car will go on your spit next month! The underbody needs some love
  4. yea thats pretty much the plan dave. Sorting brakes for a gravel sprint on the 28th june then theres a bit of a dry spell of events. So will do the body work etc then.
  5. so yea if anyone has a parts hoard of stuff lying around let me know, i could be interested in some stuff. Major things would be doors, but could also be interested in a shell for some panel cuts etc. oh oh and if anyone has an external tacho that doesnt read 5k when your doing 2k that would also be choice. please and thankyous
  6. Discuss here - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48697-blizzos-83-kp-starlet-rally-car/ Right boes, a dream of mine over the last few years of lurking in the corner of my father in laws rally career has finally come true. Yesterday I took ownership of am 83 Kp rally car. I have been wanting to get on the gravel for a while, and have had a go co driving for my father in law in his escort. Now its time to get into the hot seat myself. He gave me a bit of cash towards this starlet under the priviso that he sits in the co pilot seat and teaches me with the occasional drive, pretty good deal IMO. So dont get excited, this thing isnt that flash, hasn't been used in about 6 years and needs a fair bit of TLC, but thats all good fun anyway. good bits - - "worked" 4k, still unsure how worked, has 45mm sidedraught and quite a high duration cam, still waiting to hear from the bloke who built it for more info. - rego on hold - MSNZ hologated cage, i just need to finish getting my R2 license and get authority card in my name. - different struts with good stiff rate springs bad bits - -a fair bit of bog hidden rust - a bit gutless ATM, gunna investigate a few things (buggered mech fuel pump) and poss pull head off - a ghey colour scheme and average paint - VERY FUCKED DOORS (bottoms are very rusty) photos! bad bits - what it used to look like - what it could look like-
  7. Build thread here - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48698-blizzos-83-kp-starlet-rally-car/ Discuss / add to my parts hoard here
  8. Put a bridge between terminals TE1 and E1 in the diagnostic block, this will cycle your engine check codes. If it just keeps blinking every second there is no fault. Here is a list of codes below. I doubt it's the sender at the back of the head as this just controls the gauge in the dash. The big green plastic temp sender on top of the gearbox bell housing is the ECU temp sensor, I have a functional one of these kicking about if you get stuck. http://www.ae92ownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/40-how-to-check-and-decode-engine-management-fault-codes/
  9. giz photos mayte or it didnt happen Project - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48143-classiceskys-1980-ford-escort/
  10. Just google "mk2 escort rally perpetuation guide" and they are part of that
  11. 3/4 race cam or gedoudovit
  12. Haha this is exciting, cheers for the offer of enormous help Ben, have started stripping, , will be a few weeks before its comet let stripped then I'll bang it on the spit and start stripping paint, then i get a fair idea of what I'm in for, so far nothing looks to hard to fix other than the stepped lip around the top of the rear quarter windows
  13. Use the PI motor I'm your yard if someone doesn't buy it complete!
  14. How else could we keep you 12 toed buggers away gasser!
  15. That will be 14 old schoolers, and 172 flat peak minitruckers / Honda drivers / hella flush douchebags who seem to think this is a mean as hard park.....
  16. i love crabs but this thing is going to be too knarly for dizziness, needs to have fun tuned ignition and sweet spark cut limiter so he can have nanging competitions with testamentom
  17. sprac dis neeeeeeds mappable ignition, fuck distributors
  18. Hot 2 litre, with his cams / compression / go fast bits 45s are better matched. 40s would work fine, but who the fuck wants fine, we want fast. Also triple 40s would be fine on an m20 cos 6 cylinders and you have three carbs! Spraks is a 2lt four, so similar displacement but les cyl so need dem big crabs
  19. sooo many flat peakers, such JDM as fuck/illicit/hustler/minitruck/driftking/ceffy/rip that shit little Jonny/metallic blue vr4 bro. Still good for yarns with usual boes
  20. Yea talk to spraks, the big tall goofy looking fulla driving a sweet red sausage dog / BMW. I is excited for tonight, triumph has had its post nats dust off, let's hope my dodgy rebuilt clutch master doesn't clag on the way over from the Ding'
  21. if me oldmatedan doesn't take im keen as a flicked bean to borrow this, esky needs to be put on the spit asap
  22. Please do rookie! Cousin is a top notch machinist and has his own business with all sorts of CNC goodies
  23. Mayyyte of course! If it gets forest flares its gotta have wide arse wheels to fill them! Yea I kinda agree with you in regards to Injection Dave, especially at what you have to pay for for a set of 45's, people in the uk have successfully used injected bike throttle bodies, I'm sure I could butcher some car ITB,s to fit, it's gotta have doorts
  24. in regards to what i want it to look like, im a big fan of period mods, not so much tiny wheels tiny tyres on these cars. Still undecided if it will end up with flares, but for what i want to do with it it most likely will. I like the escort signal orange too, so will most likely retain original color. this is what i would love -
