Just remember that the Speeduino is still being constantly updated, and sometimes things do go wrong. A MS is far more established, with a bigger community and support setup. Im going with Speeduino because i like to support small projects with good ideas, it has the features i want, and it was lower cost. Its also not my main car so if the firmware throws a wobbly and the car is out of action for a few days, its no issue.
-
With that, im lead to believe that the 4.9 sensor is the way to go over a 4.2
-
I got the Speeduino boards from the official Speeduino site, and the components from Digikey. You can also buy populated Speeduinos on the official site too. Easy.
-
You can email them toalan@14Point7.com and although he is slow to reply i did get a couple of updates from him by emailing. It almost sounded like with the Spartan it was a build to order before shipping thing.
-
I purchased the Spartan. I think it was about 4-6 weeks before it was even shipped. No communication, very slow to ship, but the item looks nice and they have good rep for quality. Havent had a chance to even power it on yet.

Picked up the pile of bits I won to Trademe recently. The photos were a bit vague as there was a bit of stuff there, but what i did see what an alternator bracket, a full EFI loom and a standard ECU. As soon as i saw them i had to hit the buy now button..... Its a complete score for $125! The injection loom will be awesome for helping me design and build my new loom, and although i will not molest this standard ECU (genuine SD1 ecus are so rare it would be criminal), its good to have for troubleshooting and helping design the layout of the actual Speeduino housing. I have a Jaguar ECU on the way that has the same housing, that i will cut up for Speeduino. The Alternator bracket will allow me to mock up the placement of the new coils, off the car, and transfer it over. What i didnt know and what wasnt in the photos, was just how much more stuff there was. I did some digging in the three big boxes when i got home. There are various things, like a good condition front skirt, 'better condition than mine' tail light lenses, interior door handles, window switches and spare wood, a starter motor, alternator, a couple of mirrors, head lights and heaps of other stuff. Oh, and yes, a Momo wheel from 1996 and a boss kit! This will be going on the car ASAP, cant wait! Not sure how i feel about the wood wheel, but worst case I can get a nice leather one. The standard wheel is so massive, and nice i faded and sticky to the touch. And this is what an injection loom looks like.- 91 replies

Well worth a visit. There is an entry fee, but you would be hard pressed to find a bigger collection anywhere else (and it goes towards operating costs and acquiring more cool cars). Ive been a couple of times now.

I give up. I fixed the cooling issue, its finally working correctly now. Fitted some LEDs, sealed the tail lights and gave the dash a spruce up. http://www.tasteslikepetrol.net/2017/01/rover-sd1-cooling-fixed-some-leds-and-de-grot/- 91 replies

Knew i had a photo of the Marina. Got more work to do on the SD1 shortly, just need the damn weather to clear up.

The issue you are having with the photos is that photobucket sucks now. Use a different host like Imgur.

Another quick update. Finished installing my rear speakers, tried some LED bulbs and started to breathe some life into the leather. http://www.tasteslikepetrol.net/2016/12/rover-sd1-rear-speakers-led-brakes-and-water-ingress/- 91 replies

Woah, thats a stunning result on the paint! -
Probably a question no one will know the answer to, but would anyone know if a lead kit like this would work with LS1/2 coils? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/electronics/auction-1225230664.htm The coils have a small recessed metal stud in the terminal post. I dont know if that is HEI or not. Like these, ignore the lead in the photo (modified for an RX8 or something weird)

Way cooler valve covers than the boring ECCS ones.
-
Lol at being in other projects. Its only a couple of years newer than my Rover!

Cool car, looks like its a 200ZR-II? Not many around, needs more pics.
