  1. Its amazing how much rim/tyre setup effects the look/stance of a car
  2. Cheers for the that man, I think the guys are right, I should get some shocks befor I look at the "gay rubber cups" Gaz, thats a brand I was looking at, have you had good experience with them?
  3. Shit I'm not sure. There is a brace in place from the sunroof, it is quite strong.. I'm wondering if that is left in place when whoever ends up doing it, it wont warp. As I said man I havent really looked into my options yet. But I will but some new shocks.
  4. Haven't looked into it yet but I will want a permanent piece welded it. Then repaint the roof.
  5. Right....FFS what have I done! Today I took the sunroof off.. 3 reasons. I didn't like it. It was a manual slider and was vary easy to break in through it. ( even though I have a kill switch key I dont wanna take my chances.) Even though it looked like it was installed well it also looked like it had been there for awhile. The glass wasn't sliding back well and could potentially pop out while driving. I have a flush mounted tilt sun roof that I might get put in... but I dont really like sunroofs. So I am thinking of patching it up with a nicely cut sheet of aluminum for a temp cover until I can afford to get it filled up properly. Any who Pictures. Without the glass and the front cowl on Off hmmmmm I prob should have left it but fuck its done haha
  6. haha just take the a/c out (man im a rough c*nt) Are you going to keep it small enough so you do not have to cut out the front bumper?
  7. Just saw this! She a priddy big job! Looking forward to see this come together
  8. Wow man, its soo good to see it together! HAHAHA......now what
  9. Eeeeexcellent Good to know . I'd like to to keep up with DJZ's R30... but I'm not sure of my chances there, that thing is pretty quick. Hahaha taking on the mighty FJ is not an easily won battle
  10. + 1 Whats next though man, it seems like its pretty killer as is!
  11. I was thinking of getting this setup; I have not reserched the spring rates of those springs yet, I can only assume they would be harder otherwise what would be the point. Cheers for the info though Haha, I hope I wasn't driving over 50 kmph haha. Yeah man I was on my way out and everything then my exhaust fell off baha! I will make a real effort to make it out next month
  12. Man thats Orsome cheers for that! I am going to be looking at doing the suspension upgrades and camber over the next two months, it has hi-lows (adjusties) but needs hard springs instead of those gay rubber cups haha. Pity it never got completed man. I love the dash man, I will use that as inspration for when I do mine. hey is that an orange Datsun 510? and is it yours?
  13. Guys! I decided to try and take the mini out to the meet...Emphasis on 'try' This is what happened.. My luck baha MAYBE NEXT TIME!
  14. yeah I will def look into making them I have a few bob I have to spend on the thing already so anything I can do myself I will at least try haha Whats that about the streering column drop brackets?
  15. Is this meeting still at the strathmore pub? I think I will come, but dont judge me if I turn up in the primera baha
  16. haha thanks bro thats some goood info! get a picture of yours man that would be cool! I will look into it at somestage. i thinnk proper rear camber kit is about 200 bucks aye. The vacuum advance has been taken off. I was told it was more for ecconomy any pfft, who needs economy haha
  17. Well I have one thing sorted! I have my throttle sorted. What used to happen: If I was to heavily accelerate, the car would not return to idle! It would stay around 4k - 5k haha this sucked on the Auckland motorway! What was done: A new throttle cable mount was made. The pedal height was readjusted (it was sitting up to high and when fully depressed it would bend the mounts) the spring mount was changed and this has solved the problem! Pictures: This is a bad photo of the previous setup but you kinda get the idea
  18. She'll be right mate haha! Man 20Kg of wiring thats heaps
  19. Yeah it is a gay job to do thats for sure! I will look into some kind of performance enhancement later down track. I have 110 - 120 bar not 80 across so it still runs okay haha. My main things are to get the rev/idle problem sorted and the flares/guards and rear panel/suspension/ride height all sorted so I can drive it properly and enjoy it. Then and only then could I think about performance mods. lol
  20. Far yeah its low on compression really sitting at about 120 bar across the 4 of them. I am not sure whether the previous owner did of not aye But I have while I have had it. I cant afford to pull it apart at the moment so I have to make it go as well as it can for the mean time haha! It has much more power than what it did when I first got it. I got new points and had a dizzy thoroughy cleaned. got the timing roughly set and its going a lot better. I am taking it in for a good tune tomo and a couple of other probs to be sorted.
  21. haha, cher man, has been a headache since I have had it but im sure it will start to pay off soon! Funny you mention those man, it doesnt at the moment but they are on the wish list.
  22. Took it for the first time in a while. Its still not right but man it felt good! Sifty car in sifty alley
