  1. Oh, and I forgot to say that Morris Minor Vans are awesome.
  2. It is Honda friendly and you are more than welcome to attend. Besides, one of the best things about the oldschool line-up is the totally random group of cars we show up in!
  3. Also we have been meeting up at Parts Master on Wairau Road before hand and doing an Old School roll in which has been pretty cool. Meeting up from 9:00ish to roll out 9:30ish. Register interest here.
  4. We are going to do something a little different for November’s Caffeine & Classics; this month, we are having a collection for the Auckland City Mission. It’s entirely optional whether you wish to be involved, but we thought it would be nice to do something charitable from Caffeine & Classics prior to Christmas. For those of you that are not familiar with the Auckland City Mission, they provide food parcels to thousands of Auckland families that struggle to put food on the table and also feed thousands of people in “crisis” through their centres in Auckland City and Otahuhu . They also provide bulk food supplies to 60 community agencies and foodbanks from Thames to Kaitaia. Obviously Christmas is their busiest time of year so it would be good to do as much as we can to help them. It is not compulsory to contribute, and we are NOT asking you to do a special shop for this but maybe raid your pantry for some spare items that can go towards this great cause. If you prefer not to be involved, that’s fine – Caffeine & Classics will still provide your monthly fix of cool vehicles and great coffee, so please come along even if you aren’t involved in the donation to Auckland City Mission. There will be a collection point at Caffeine & Classics, and at approximately 12:00 noon on the day we’ll do a convoy from Smales Farm to Auckland City Mission’s Hobson Street address to drop off the donated goods – all vehicles are welcome to join us on this convoy, the more the better! Please note, donations need to be “non-perishable” items. Some ideas include: tins of baked beans or spaghetti, sweet corn, canned fruit, flour, sugar, salt, tea bags, rice, pasta, etc . . . I’m sure you all get the idea! Anything non-perishable will be greatly appreciated. What do ya reckon people - let’s help Auckland City Mission make a difference this Christmas!
  5. Cafeine and Classics is held on the last Sunday of every month. https://maps.google....s farm&t=m&z=16 WHERE: Smales Farm, Auckland WHEN: 10am till 1pm. WHAT TO BRING: All cars are welcome. This has proved to be a popular event and in July there were over 300 cars in attendance. Everything from V8's to Rotaries. Hot Rods to Vintage. Euro to Japanese. Everything. http://protectainsur...une-2013-Photos Pictures of past events can be viewed here.
  6. Give me a second and I'll throw up a new November cafe/cars thingie.
  7. With Minors you need to bleed front and back. You start with the wheel cylinder the furthest away from the master cylinder and work back finishing where you started. IE: Passenger rear. Drivers rear. Passenger front. Drivers front. Passenger rear. Yep, gotta do passenger rear twice. Also, from memory some brake fluids are not compatible so you can not mix them. Might pay to spend some coin and do a total flush and get rid of any old crap and make sure the whole system is rocking the same type. Also, are you getting someone to help you bleed them or are you using a 'self bleeder thing?' Minor brakes really do need someone spotting top see how much bubbling you are getting. Oh, and I also have several copies of the same Morris Minor 1000 Hayes manuals if you want to buy one. (bought one for my first minor, second minor came with one, and Dad bought me one). They are a fucking must if you are new to minors drum brakes SU carbs etc. Never knew you had to oil a carb til I got a minor....
  8. Your adjustment was fine, did you bleed the front brakes as well? Did you rebuild the rears as one cyclinder was fucked? What was the brake fluid like and did you replace it with the same DOT(?) etc. If the fluid has not been flushed in a while it is worth doing. How is the brake master cyclinder? Any signs of leaks past or present? It is also worth noting that Morris Minor brakes are shit from factory, but you should get 'feel' from the brake pedal, even if you don't get any stopping power. I fucking hate drum brakes on Morris Minors. I did what you did, which is a pain in the arse and after all that it appears one of my front wheel cyclinders is also shagged so I use it as a car cover storage unit instead of a car.
  9. Also Aaron, it's a NZPC thingie so all cars will be welcome? I will try and find out some more info before the weekend and update here. Was surprised no one else has mentioned it which is why I started a thread now.
  10. LOL'd. Best excuse ever. (will need pictures to confirm this isn't just a pike... )
  11. So same as last year. Not too many details yet, but will be heading down from Aucks on Saturday for this. Who else is keen/going? Will add more details soon but it is this Saturday and so far no one else has mentioned it.
  12. SUPER SWEET GTO! This isn't the one from Northland is it?
  13. Quick answer required. If a car is certed and has PPlates, and is being sold without PPlates, is the cert on the firewall still valid or do you need to apply for a new cert plate? The only silly question is the one you should have asked before buying a new car.
  14. I suppose they could do you for impersonating a Police officer which is a criminal offence, which could involve your car being impounded? At the very least you can expect to be stood in front of a Judge. So yeah, not good times.
  15. ^Was just invited to this and thought others might be interested in attending.
