  3. Friend got this little gasless 100A mig form Bunnings and fuck me it’s useless, can hardly stick 3mm together.

  5. Every thing was fine with the motor, all the bearings were removed and there was only some normal rubbing on the outer rod bearings witch is totally normal for a new engine, I think it wouldn’t show up with cad bearings only the copper lead
  6. It’s no slouch, it has a certain sweetness most motors lack and you can be in top gear doing 30 mph at 400 RPM
  7. I took it back that Monday and picked it up on Tuesday, and had the car on the road by Friday
  8. Engine is all good, all the bearing caps have been removed and bearings removed, no damage, particals were just from some slight rubbing wile running in, it has the heavy duty brengun carrier rod bearings

  13. Shitty shit, I gess I have to take the motor out and return it, I have come to the conclusion that after the amount of money I have spent on it it would be stupid not to have a look inside and check the bearings
  14. It’s got a bit of a cakel to it now, I put castrol edge 25w50 oil and went for a drive

I went for a about a 30 minute drive then drained the oil, there was nothing in the oil but when I cut the filter open there is some bigend bearing metal, they are copper lead full floating type, I guess they have stopped shedding anything because the oil was clear and it was just in the filter, just hope everything is happy and it was just from the running in?

Went for a road test, it’s going well, gear stick is a cunt and I have to put the short one back on as I can’t get it into reverse as it hits my knee, It’s a bit strange I drove this for so long and got use to things and not it’s all different now with different sounds, new gearbox is much more quiet and engine has way more punch and is x10 smoother, so I gess I will sip the floor out and change the shifter
  17. I got this $10 garden sprayer and tied the safety valve shut with wire and filled it with engine oil, had it putting out almost 60 PSI, forced about 1L of oil into the oil system wire turning the engine with a ratchet, and I could hear it bubbling inside
  18. I sealed each head stud, back it off with the power bar, put lock 2 nuts on the stud, extract stud, clean, apply sealer, install stud, remove lock nuts, fit washer and nut and re torque X 48 times.
  19. This has all ways sounded like an XR8 with the super Coby’s I am thinking of going to a 10” straight through Coby to get A more mean farting sound

I put this all back together now, I just fired it up and ran it at a 1500 rpm for 20 mins, a few head studs are leaking, when I re torque them I will pull each one out and put some sealer on it, it has around 40 PSI oil pressure witch is good for 30w oil and the kind of pump I am using, after I seal the head studs I will run it again and then change the oil to something elce.

I am pretty fucked off, it’s all together now apart from exhaust and fan but I found out the sump was dipped in something that fucked the new dipstick boss gasket and it’s now loose on the rivets, also it’s going to cost almost $400 for the stupid oil line fittings, I will try and do something elce for the oil lines because I don’t want to remove the brass fittings from the block and shit to fall down inside, I know little about pipe fittings

    Lots of people have sed to me use branded shit like castrol and never use anything like SCA branded coolent or brake fluid as it’s shitty
