  1. The only man with a "running" Piazza.... I might make Feb if I can get a car running by then, not many classic cars to look at here in Shanghai (unless you count the near new "classic" VW Santana's)...
  2. RIP, Herons WOF expired and the the alternator belt broke. Piazzas WOF expired and the batterys toast. Sounds like the start of a "good" country song... One of the Volvo's might start though...
  3. I will have 2 cars that run this month I can choose between, provided they do still run next week... Been a bad month for alternators....
  4. Pretty wet and miserable today, car made it though.
  5. Parts delayed (typical shipping companies), thankfully Vic from skodaparts.co.nz personally dropped them off for me earlier in the week. New brakes in, pass! The only thing I didn't fix was the weather forecast for the Ellerslie car show tomorrow..
  6. Finally got around to taking it through a WOF, passed everything except the rear drum brakes - imbalanced. Upon further inspection we found that the only shoe that was working (cylinder half seized) was attempting to grip onto oil covered drums (the grip coming from the dried up oil I guess). It's times like these when you realise you are working on a incredibly rare car, made of parts from another car that was produced in a country that no longer exists.. Thankfully it is a pretty basic system, parts are on the way so should finally get a WOF in a week or so!
  7. Getting closer now, almost ready! Of course the more you look at something the more issues you find/remember.. Still to do: Fix RH Rear camber issue (Had a bracket installed the wrong way around, woops) Wheel alignment Get wipers working Sort out carb tune Repair broken trim Gearbox shift linkage Engine belts
  8. Not very good at finishing projects, thought I better take it for a quick drive today though.. Still to do: Fix RH Rear camber issue Wheel alignment Get wipers working (amazing British Leyland era Lucas cable wiper system and it appears they built the car around it) Sort out carb tune Repair broken trim Then it should be time to try and get a WOF!
  9. That was a another big turnout, those couple of cars doing skids up the road are going to get everyone in trouble eventually though..
  10. Will be there in the GTR Torana if it doesnt rain.
  11. It used to be certed and road legal with that engine, not sure what has changed since though. Probably needs some of the interior added back too I would imagine, if I had enough time I would swap a complete interior in from my spare car and get it back on the road (but not much chance of me every doing that).

  13. Might be time to learn how to fabricate a totally new exhaust, I still remember the last time..
  14. Been too busy to do anything to it this month, found a video from earlier in the year though.
  15. All the parts are finally back on the car! Still some modifications needed in the future but it will do for a day.
  16. I didn't realise the car had 8 speakers in it until I put the stereo in, a little overkill considering how small it is. Good quality NZ wiring too (not really to sure what this was supposed to do, wires head up towards the wiper motor)...
  17. The front suspension was a little stiff, seems no one had been greasing it over the last decade.. New shocks Late night suspension work..
  18. Finishing off the wiring, uncovered horrors.. This must have got a little hot at some point?
  19. My car was invited to the Ellerslie Intermarque Concours & Classic Car Show, on Sunday 12 February 2017, running out of time to finish what I need.. Stereo going in (I don't know why anyone would ever want to be an auto electrician), all wires about 5cm too short: Gave it the first real clean it has had since I bought it, lots of black oxidation in the 30 year old paint: Also put on 2 new rear tyres, they were so old they too were made in NZ.... Still lots left to do before I can try and get a WOF, hopefully I can make a bit of a dent today and tomorrow.
  20. It runs rough with the port blocked off, however it runs rich either way. We misplaced the hoses between taking the carb off and putting it back on which made running new lines a little difficult (in hindsight I should have also taken photos of the carb before sending it away).. I didn't take a close enough look before I put it back on so have not yet worked out how to adjust the mixture, just did a little googling and think it might be this "idle mixture adjustment": http://t124.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3318
