madaz62
Hi guys, Over the weekend I was pulling the rx7 gearbox out of my 323 wagon and had an issue removing the driveshaft from the gearbox tailhousing. Thought it maybe me doing something stupid so removed the driveshaft with the gearbox but I still cant get the driveshaft to come out. I've tried pursauding it with a hammer and wood with no luck. Car was running fine with this setup. Any thoughts on next step? Photo for reference
Adoom
Only thing I can think of is that the splines had no oil or grease on them and have rusted together. I'd keep going with the bit of wood and a hammer. Maybe get a bigger hammer, but definitely keep the bit of wood.
Mof
Can you try knock the driveshaft in the opposite direction of normal rotation? It may have rounded over and bound up the splines. Too many clutch kicks
