My name is Russell
Hi Oldschool. They old 1988 Pajero has done an amazing job at failing on many many things for it's WOF. Failed on top and bottom ball joints which is all groovy, mid way thru replacing them have realised its actually the swing arm bush's causing the play. So have removed the top arms but now can't see how the arms come appart. Has anyone done them before of have link to a manual? any help appreciated. thanks in advance. kind regards. tortron
There's a common manual for all pre 90s Mitsubishi trucks, so I believe it will be the same as the for an l200 http://www.onsiteconcrete.net/d-50/Factory_Manual/02_front_supension.pdf

My name is Russell
@tortron you wouldn't have one for a steering box by any chance? Or be familiar if a generation two box can be made to fit? The WOF that keeps giving

The WOF that keeps giving i have a gen 2 power steering box in my 1st gen l200, like this http://i.imgur.com/fJptQfk.gif i think they are more or less the same chassis? are you planning on rebuilding it? easy as m8, dont even need a manual, just mark the body and cap so it goes back on at roughly the same torque http://www.onsiteconcrete.net/d-50/Factory_Manual/19_steering_manual_and_power.pdf This is the whole manual http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/showthread.php/49-First-Gen-D-50-factory-manual-PDF Theres also a 2nd gen one floating around that site
My name is Russell
Yeah I think I'm going to need to, got fluid ozzing from here VvVvV and the box is whining like a sinking boat under load not the belts tightened. Thought I had read somewhere a generation 2 can be made to fit a gen 1 fairly easily. But rebuild is probably a better idea.
tortron
bugger, gotta strip the whole thing to get under that, theres just a cup seal. So may as well do the whole hog. Got my seal kit off rock auto, for mightymax/dodged50/starion
My name is Russell
Ok cool, happy to do things properly, just a matter of working out how. So you reckon just pull it apart no manual required? Typical only have 2 days left to complete WOF Will google rock auto, thanks for the help owl!
tortron
ahh, aint gona get it in 2 days from the states. If its the same box as the one above theres really no issue i watched this a couple of times before pulling mine out the difference was, theres no removable cap at the bottom, and all the bearings were the same size looks like this when in bits

This is them re assembled. 12T press did the job nicely on the ball joints, those things wont move without one!
