Corona_man Posted May 10, 2013 Share Posted May 10, 2013 I have a toyota 4k carburettor that is giving me trouble. Every time I put my foot down it dies then comes right after a little bit. Iv tried heaps and found out the problem. The power valve jet was blocked. My problem is , on the side of the carby is a little solenoid. It has a hose coming off it and a wire ,but I'm not sure where the hose is meant to be connected to. There's also a little hole that goes to the power valve, I'm assuming this needs vacuum to operate the power valve. I also took the solenoid out to test it. It only works if you push the solenoid in a little bit, then it will energise and work,other wise just puting power onto it nothing happens. You can see the solenoid in the picture. Rookie Posted May 11, 2013 Share Posted May 11, 2013 The solenoid is an anti dieseling/run on thing, if it doesn't work properly the car won't idle. You can do a mod to delete it though. I'm not sure about the other stuff. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
