Jase
say a radiator has side tanks versus top tanks which will cool better? same size core same size tanks coolant flows the same distance
coldturkey
Going by the fact that heat rises I would say something with an inlet pipe at the top and an outlet at the bottom would be most efficient, probably bottom left and top right so coolant travels the largest area of the radiator before making its way back into the engine
coldturkey
Location of actual tanks probably doesn't play too much in to it, it's more about specific inlet and outlet points but I suppose if the tank was at the side then the hot coolant would travel straight up the tank as it's an easier path then through the fins and therefore not maximise the usage area of the radiator. But I doubt that matters too much
flyingbrick
I vote that it doesn't matter one noticeable jot.
