1Gesus
Bit of progress this week end my kx buggerd out yesterday hilux diff compared tiny ae85 poor supra getting into a neglected state test fit of a block. not sitting quite right, need some other rubber things had to put the custom cross member in, what a mish lol gonna be a tight fit! gota bash the firewall back for the starter motor bump and looks like the twin turbos will fit so thatl save me lots of money gota suss how im gona fit a radiator too
1Gesus
went to the opunake cheese factory skids on week end, way too many nissans for my liking but renewed my motivation to get this done. so i can show em how its done lol just waiting for my hilux diff to return from auckland got it shortened to 1400mm and kept it 5 stud with the supra rear brakes also waiting on some modified engine mounts, custom drive shaft and sway bar to suit my setup. fingers crossed it all bolts up then that'll be the drivetrain done and the hardest parts over fingers crossed then itl be fuel system, wire up the whole car, fit radiator and front mount and probably a hundred other ittle things on the way... 1Gesus
got the diff not too happy to be honest told the guy to leave the sway bar mounts off because the sway bar doesnt fit around the diff head. so he welded the sway bar mounts on and left the panhard rod mount off.. and normal 5x114 wheels dont seem to fit over the center ring of the hilux axels other than that it seems ok.. will try bolt it in this week end, if it dont fit im gona so pissed
1Gesus
diff is in, few more problems with one axle being a few mm too long though a bit gutted with the diff not being perfect but life goes on prety rough paint job got the custom driveshaft but the the rear flange is from is from an earlier hilux so the two of the holes dont line up with my diff head. but funnily enough my supra rear drive shaft flange lines up with the hilux diff perfectly. so i may try to see if the universal joints are the same and swap the flanges or just re-drill the pinion flange some good news though, got the 1G block sitting in the mounts properly thanks to a custom mount and a nolathane rubber mount
1Gesus
getting it done.. slowly Fire wall bashing got the gearbox on shifter was further back than i thought [/img] [/img] Driveshaft is too short by about 40mm [/img] [/img] still need to make a new cross member for gearbox [/img] [/img]
1Gesus
more test fitting [/img] [/img] [/img] pretty stoked with this ae the twin turbo setup needs to go tho. i think i could move the engine back another 40mm or so with a single turbo setup, not to mention make more power and thus free up space for the radiator and save some of the cars precious balance lol still trying to score a mid shifter for the w series. anyone wanna swap for the rear position? 1Gesus
got some new bits recently [/img] [/img] loving the bumper lights and got them for such a good price and brand new. now the front end is 95% done.. just need that pesky TRUENO badge its too good to leave in the shed [/img] ae86 brake booster with unknown toyota master cylinder, 15/16 size though so should be better the little ae85 setup. still trying to decide on front brakes, thinking about getting a whole load of stuff from T3 at some stage, there brake set up looks good but i kinda want the fronts to match the rear in 5x114 stud pattern. i have ma70 supra 300mm front discs and calipers, still thinking about trying that but the calipers are only single pot and i id rather run 15 inch wheeels. so theres a lot to think about here lol Pulled apart my spare 1ggte for fun, needs rebuilding anyway. but it was quite interesting seeing how it all works also pulled the whole diff out again to repaint it but im still not happy with it. i need better tools and shit [/img] [/img] ill leave you with a teaser. this is a 1ggte ae86 from australia where this is quite common [/img] [/img]

1Gesus
what's new? 10 inch wide + 12 fits well. not sure if diff is centred though. 18 inch rims too big?

But then I got this. should be well suited to the 1G That's about it for now

1Gesus
Motor + gearbox test fit clearances all pretty good except clutch fork, had to trim it. Would a 1jz fit? maybe
1Gesus
Been making some progress / spending money The start of the turbo manifold. Not my work... Getting a certain company from Hamilton to do it. They got pretty close with the turbo position here, from a few photos and measurements I sent them. But it needs some changes. I also put the don mega 1g in Turbo sits too close to the head and distributor Heaps of room for the down pipe One T3 flange width out put the turbo in a good position Got a radiator. Cut the wings off Trimmed some of the top rad support away. I was hoping to drop it down a bit further so it would tuck in under the lip but that will require more cutting. Top hose will need some tight radius bends and new flange from thermostat Also got a set of coilovers from MRP along with there RCA's. front springs changed from 8kg to 10kg All is not well though as i'm still having issues with the POS hilux diff. Cant even put these bad boys ^ in the back because of the mounts being on kook angles. Over and Out
1Gesus
Turbo manifold finished. Made a start on the exhaust. Got a blank plate made for the dizzy, came out quite nice in stainless. 1/4'' stainless tube for turbo oil feed with swagelok fittings. Took so long to get right I will probably have to run the waste gate outlet towards the front then down and back. Well that's the easiest option anyway Discussion: http://oldschool.co....uss-1ggte-ae85/
Popular Post 1Gesus
Overdue update Fuel system mostly done, went a bit overboard here. 3/8'' stainless tube, made the surge tank out of a used cal gas cylinder from work, bosch 044 pump etc Drive shaft made. 900mm of tube Really needed a hoist to make a proper job of these lines. Had to slide out from under car to make every bend. Managed to do each line in one piece which i'm stoked with even though there a bit kooked. Going over the diff was most painful Need some flexible lines to go here to the fuel rail Gearbox cross member mk2 And I've been working on the intercooler and piping Wanting to mount these coils on the cam cover so i can run short leads. Made up a bracket out of 3mm flat bar, its a bit flimsy under the weight of these coils so might have to beef it up a bit
1Gesus
Last bits of tube bending done on fuel system For the vent, I've run a nylon tube up the pillar across the top and back down the other side. Wasn't too sure on the industry best practice with fuel tank venting. This should be OK I hope Not too keen on the colour of these fittings, reckon they look out of place.. should of got black ones I suppose Cooling system is pretty much sorted. I've kept it really simple, no heater etc. Only one line returning from the back of the head. Have decided to ditch the idea of running factory oil cooler, so I plugged that hole in the block. This motor was already setup to run without it. Looks like a restriction anyway. Welder had a hard time with this. Quite shite material apparently. Couple pin hole leaks unfortunately, should be easy fix though And then theres this.. pretty tight fit. Won't come off now. I'll put this adapter in if it proves unreliable being so stretched like that. New page would be good
